Maybe its to reduce lag, but it'd be nice if there was a more interesting way to make them die. It probably wouldn't be much laggier either.
Their corpses should stay there after they fall over, but not be red anymore. They should be normal, but have a different texture to show that they're dead. Creepers will look ripped open as if all their gunpowder fell out of their body, endermen will look cut in pieces, zombies will be gored like the zombie pigmen are, skeletons will be cracked, etc, they will have a texture different from their normal one and this texture will be changable with texture packs.
When their corpses have sat there for long enough, (a minute) they will turn into skeletal versions of themselves. If you break these skeletons, they will disappear and leave behind some bones.
When these skeletons have sat there for long enough, (another minute) they will turn into dirt blocks, as if they rotted away.
This will apply for players as well, who really need to have a death animation. :/ The death skin will either be choosable by players or it will be the skin that the player used when he was alive.

That's a great idea, but i think then it will be easier to get bones. and it may lag a little, if you are going on a rampage and there are like, 20+ corpse's(lol i don't know how to spell that) on the ground. i play minecraft and it's laggy when I have smooth lighting off, fast gfx, and tiny render. So i approve, but i don't approve. LOL. :wink.gif:

Both ideas are good, but this will probably be laggy as hell.
Where the heck do you get these epic ideas? xD
From playing minecraft. xD
