I'm hoping that just because there's testificates in minecraft doesn't mean that the pigman won't be added. They should both be added. And here will be the differences between them, as well as anything they will share in common.
TESTIFICATES:
- Spawn with medieval villages
- Spawn with different roles
- Shops (such as the smithies and bakeries) will have NPC shops that you buy stuff from with ingots
- They will run away when attacked, but the guards will come and attack whoever started a fight
- Only the testificate guards will attack monsters on sight if they are close enough
- Normal testificates will spawn in lit areas of blocks that a player has placed (e.g. planks, cobblestone)
- When an NPC village testificate is killed it will drop a gold ingot
PIGMEN:
- Spawn in simpler hut and longhouse and wool tent villages, more commonly found than larger more complex testificate villages
- Campfire in the middle instead of a well
- Don't have different roles
- No shops
- If one is attacked, every pigman in the village comes to kill the attacker
- If a pigman sees an enemy MOB and it is close enough they will attack it
- If you spent too long near a pigmen it will attack you
- Drops only pork upon death
BOTH PIGMEN AND TESTIFICATES:
- If an enemy MOB is close enough to one it will attack the pigman/testificate
- Pigmen and NPC village testificates wander around but don't stray away from the village, (any testificates that spawn in your buildings will not try to stay near a village) but the testificates running shops won't
*Pigmen will make sounds that cross between pigs and humans
*Testificates will make caveman-like murmuring/mumbling noises
perhaps for currency in testificate villages you could use iron ingots AND a currency called enders and in a shop you can trade testificates materials such as sand, glass.redstone etc and the materials they need change every once and a while and after you give testificates said materials you get enders to spend at shops along with iron
I like ur idea (mostly because i hate the testificate and love pigmand :biggrin.gif:) but i have a suggestion make the Testificate and pigmans enemies, if a pigman see a testificate it will attack!
And Testificates dropping a gold bar is not good. Someone could set up a mob trap in the middle of the village.
Dig a hole
Put water flowing down in it, or if you want to be fancy you could make the lava-ladder trap (This may not work, as it is usually big)
Wait, or lure guards into it
????
Profit!

Thats a brilliant idea. :smile.gif: The idea I sort of have in my mind is that pigmen are the "barbarians" and testificates are the "civilized people", so yeah, if they do happen to meet eachother they will attack eachother. :tongue.gif:
Pigmen should be found in the Nether.

The testificates don't keep spawning in the village. Well, at least the ones with roles won't. The normal types will, but only the ones with specific jobs will drop ingots. And no, pigmen should not spawn in the nether, they should only spawn on Earth.

That would be very complicated, so I think maybe trading shouldn't be possible, and you would only be able to buy stuff from NPCs with ingots (for example, you could buy bread from the baker or buy meat from the butcher or buy sugarcane/pumpkins/melons from the farmer.) But if Notch could do a trading system like that, I think you should be able to trade with the pigmen, but not the testificates, because they're too "civilized" for the barter system.

I just need to get that out.
Pigmen should keep and devour pigs btw
**** this **** i hate it
Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.
