One of the features that brings
creativity and advature together in minecraft is Biomes. Every biome has a style and or should atleast give
the player a sense that they are In a differnt ecosystem then the next. Not necsseraly a dramatic change like from Desert to Tundra But a smooth flow in biomes. I really think Mojang has tackled this very well and are trying to give us more choices in what we can exsplore and come across in minecraft.
Ie: Mushroom biome and the newer Swamp Biome. Balance and flow of biomes is a lot less dramatic now and is really nice now but there will always be a need for tweaking biomes. Who said biomes have to be based off of earths real biomes. Below are a few new biomes fake and real Earth based biomes! These ideas have been flowing thew my mind sense I seen the new biome changes.
"Terrestrial biomes" The Agressive biomes Plague Biome- When coming across a plague biome you will know it. Monsters of minecraft are always here do to the fact the sky is always overcasted from the replusive plague mist. The grass has a sick looking color to it just like the mushroom biome. Trees no longer have a healthy brown but yet a darker gray color. Mushrooms feel the biome but something else that is a problim something is happening aswel the plague spreads to healthy biomes slowly but adventually if left untended the plague biome will consume large amounts of other biomes. So it's up to you to seek into this biome and cleanse the trees and lands before it's to late.
Effect of the plague- if you enter this land unplanned then it will be a very deadly task after so much time your food will depleat faster and you get sick. Every plague biome has a center core where the plague is coming from ethier being a virus or a curse.
Virus core- much like a brain/command center for the whole biome. Here is what allows the plague biome to spread. But if destoryed it will retract and will be gone.
New monsters await in the darks of the plague biome! Plague wolf, Ghouls, knight Skeleton ( armour skeleton with a sword) Poision spider( sprays poioson on you) and Poison Slim.
New random generated - Graveyards, tombs and fortresses with a deathly style.
New Blocks- Block of bones,Plague stone ( craftable- slabs and stairs and fences) Poison slim block ( much like soul sand but will drain life) Plague wood -> Plague planks ( Craftable)last but not least -> Gravestones
New Boss- Plague master? or soulholder? ( Suggestions please) Hymenoptera Biome - ( Insecta)
This biome you'll find a lot like the plague biome as in terms of being agressive but other then that it's differnt. This biome just like the plague biome will spread but mostly to tree and from tree to ground ( Slowly and limited). What's a Hymenoptera you ask? Well it's a classfaction of wasp and bees! And you guessed it this biome will have wasp/bee like orginaism running them collecting wood and spreading the hive but nesting underground and in trees.
In the nest you'll find delious honey coms and a fleshy/wood like hive that spreads out like a tunnel of networks underground.
How can you stop the spread of these wasp/bee creatures.. You have to have a well planed raid on the hive ofcorse. Food won't be the problim here do to the abundance of honey serving as a food and light source (when placed in block form). But the aggressive nature of these wasp/bees will. Fight to the the center of the core and you'll find the queen once she is killed the hive soon will start to retract and soon desolve.
New mobs- Wasp/bee warrior, collecter, builder and protecter.
New boss-The Queen.
New Random Genarated - Hives Non-aggressive Biomes Highland Biome -
This biome is more of a earthly biome generating natural near moutain biomes and Steep hill biomes. This biome is a Dwarfven paradise! High up and flat areas on the moutain of the Highlands great place for a fortess! But here you'll find towns/fortess already built from Dwarfs and they'll alway big diging threw the moutain mines in search for ores!
New mob- Dwarfs and Moutian goats!
New random generated- Dwarf mines and Fortress. Mangrove Biome - This biome is a coast only biome to the ocean you'll find it a lot like swamps but with larger trees and thick water bordering trees. Also when the mangrove biome is generated in a tropical or a jungle biome it will have a chance on generating palm trees.
New plant- Mangrove tree and palm trees.
New mob- Alligator ( also spawns in swamps aswel)
"Fixes and reformations"
The aggressive biomes would be bothersome if they didn't have limitations on them so here are my limits on the Plague and the spread of the Insecta biome. They have a limit on how far into another biome is so there is no true worries of you being invaded and I mean when I say slow spread it truly wont effect you unless you build right next to this biomes. On hard mode these biomes can spread unlimited making this a challenge and people always want a challenge this is "Hard mode." Blocks that they don't spread on or across - stone based or metal based. Also these biomes are rare this place would be more of a " Oh wow! I found a Plague biome" rather then " Y U NO stop killing me."
I disagree with this being just a mod. The mushroom biome is in Vanilla and its interesting what might caused it.
Thank you all for your feed-back. I will be still changing this idea around a lot. I did changes on how far the plague can go and how dramatic it can spread but these biomes are rare and spread slowly. I don't see why they can't be for vanilla sense there is a mushroom Biome and Mooshroom living in it. These Biomes suggestions are far from being complete. I would love my minecraft world personally to be fruitful with biomes and advanture and I'm sure you would have to agree with that some way.
