This has been brought up before: Ambient Sounds, but maybe maybe it is worth bringing up again.
I think that certain small elements, if added to Minecraft, would improve the look and feel of the game for the better. I'm simply talking about infrequent randomized sounds and instances.
Here are some things that I was thinking of, for day and night.
Daytime
Birds chirping
Birds flying away (either randomly or as you pass through a tree or field)
Butterflies
The sound of wind, or maybe even the sound of trees blowing
Nighttime
Crickets
Bats(?)
Moths (perhaps around lights or lanterns)
Owls
Wolves howling
Caves
Dripping of water (stalagmites?)
Small echoes from player actions or mob (this would add tremendous realism)
Now I realize that many if not all of these sounds would become quite annoying if they are ringing in your ear every second. So I propose that it would be nice to just hear or experience these things very infrequently and randomly throughout the game.
Also, I realize that many Minecraft players are purists who are against the game being more realistic than it is (or isn't). So maybe this would be a nice mod.
Thoughts, comments, and more suggestions would be awesome! This has been on my mind quite a bit recently.
This would be nice to have. it would definatly incress the general atmospher of minecraft it self. Although it would probably cause abit of lag, because of all the noises happening at once. I Definatly like it though. :biggrin.gif: +1
They really just need to add more realistic mobs. Mo' creatures is a great mod, but half of the time it doesn't work, the textures aren't the greatest, and it's very incompatible.

I'm glad though, because quite a few people like the idea.
Ambient Sounds
I hope it eventually gets attention from staff. So go ahead and "like" it if you are for it :laugh.gif:
