So I've explored the nether quite a bit in the pre-release and I don't really think that the new mobs are that annoying. So I've thought of (at least in my opinion) a better one. It's called (insert sinister voice here) The Screamer. It's a nether mob that is very rare and is immune to fire, lava and explosions.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: From the waist down shape wise it looks just like the player only a pinkish skin with bones visible and a deep purpleish liquid running down the body. But the moment you go above the waist it changes a lot. For starters it has 4 arms, 2 on each side, the lower ones pointing down at a 45 degree angle and the higher ones pointing up at a 45 degree angle, the arms are textured just like the legs. Then there's the head, its bigger then a players head and shaped like a stereotype alien head but, the top half of the skin and skull have been removed showing only the brain.
ACTION DESCRIPTION: This mob can not fly but it can climb up straight walls and hang from the ceiling, it also can not take fall damage so it can just drop out of nowhere and attack the player. If it sees the player, it will either let go and fall down (if its on a ceiling) and run at the player, climb up a wall and run at player or if it's just on the ground it will just run at the player very very fast (2.5 times normal player speed. When it runs it yells a terrifying scream, it arms start flailing, it's eyes go red, it's hand turn into fire, which it throws at the player and it's brain starts expanding and shrinking like a breathing lung. When it hits the player it damages 3.5 hearts it and knocks it backwards 5-10 blocks. It will keep coming at the player by climbing dropping or running until either the player kills it or the player dies.
It drops an item called screamerskin, which can be crafted into gloves, that if the player holds it can climb up vertical walls and when said player punches stuff, does 3.5 hearts of damage to whatever he/she hits. It also has 20 hearts of health.
So what do you guys think good idea bad idea?
I know I could've improved the drop but i couldn't think of one. If you have a better idea say so in a post. I'm also not sure about the health, is it to much?
THAT IS.... EPIC
This seems like a very good and hard to fight mob. I do have an idea of what it should drop. Maybe something LIKE screamerskin, but it's the skin of the head, which can be crafted with wheat and a torch to make a scarecrow head, which stops mobs spawning from a certain amount of blocks away, so you can have dark, yet safe areas, but still have monsters spawn in other locations. The screamerfaceskin (i need a better name) can also be worn like a hat, to either show that you have beaten one, or just for looks.

Be caring, please help my dragon hatch by giving him a little click.
No actually, I haven't played deadspace. I was just in the nether and just thought "all the land mobs in the nether are to easy there needs to be a harder one, and I thought of this.

Fantastic Idea but I think it should drop a record that is just its screams, i like the skin idea for climbing gloves but how about instead of skin you get one of its arms. creepy. also have it drop its brain so you can wear it as a helmet to both show off and it shows the outline of other life forms behind blocks and stuff like in left for dead 2. well thats all im coming up with. good night and happy new year

Nice idea, but maybe instead of dropping the entire arm how about just the hands. Also maybe it could drop something to create a potion of climbing, sight (seeing outlines of mobs like you suggested) or something else.

Dude, this sounds a lot like a Banshee except the scream doesn't knock you out. But i absolutely love the idea. The monster that defines the dangers of the Nether. A reason to fear the Nether.
I could see myself running from something like that screaming my head off. LOL
Good job!
I think Notch should have been more creative with mobs like this. It sounds overpowered but there must be a way to beat it, right? btw, what's its viewing distance?
