This is my first post and I don't know if anyone else has made one like it.
I understand that Mojang is going to add "Villager" mods into the villages in 1.9. It sounds like they may have the IQ of a zombie (without the lust for flesh). To add life into these people I think they should be interactive.
By right clicking a Villager (without anything in your hand) you should be able to trade with them and except quests from them.
Farmers will sell you wheat, bread and watermelon slices. Their quests involve harvesting plants.
Buchers will sell you beef, pork, and chicken.(cooked and uncooked) Their quests involve slaughtering wild mobs.
Librarians will sell you blank maps, used maps and compasses. Their quests involve research and learning.
Priests will sell you dye. Their quests involve battling enemy mobs.
Smiths will sell you tools of every material except gold and diamond. Their quests involve mining.
Villagers won't have anything to sell. They will, however, give you adventure based guests.
What do we use to trade with you might ask? One gold ingot could be crafted into 100 gold coins.(or 25, if you want a challenge)
What are some good minecraft quests?
eg: A farmer would ask you to get him some milk, wheat, eggs, and sugar. Reward: gold coins, exp, and a cake.

What about the "Adventure Update"? They added a lot of RPGish features.
Yes, I said I like some RPGish features, but if you like salt on your food it doesn't mean you eat spoonfuls of it.
I eat spoon fulls of salt.
