Everyone is talking about how Endermen are too easy to fight, and I agree, a couple bow shots and they're toast. So instead of them teleporting to us, they should teleport us to them. To balance out the ability their damage could be reduced so they are easy to kill off afterwards.
Imagine that you're exploring a ravine and have a portion of it cleared, in the distance you see a couple Endermen messing with blocks in the darkness. You look at one of them and then poof you're teleported to their dark location. Disoriented you strike out at them and kill them off only to find yourself in some dark unexplored corner of a cave. Mobs surrounding you in all directions as you are now somewhat lost. Imagine the frantic reaction of throwing down torches to make you're surroundings safe.
That would make them a challenge, and make you scared to tangle with them.
That would make me paranoid! I like it actually, it would actually provide alot of challenge... I can see it now, teleport over... kill the Emberman and then turn... Creeper.... "Ssssssssssssup-*BOooooooom*!" >_>
It sounds like a good idea, and definitely would add to the scare of Endermen, but it would be incredibly unfair and possibly glitchy to be teleported to a certain location.
Examples:
- You look at 2 Endermen simultaneously. Where do you go? Possibility of teleporting between them infinitely if not crashing the game.
- An Enderman is on a cliff. You look at him, teleport to him, except over the cliff. Fall to your death.
- Teleporting while an Enderman is dying. You look at him as soon as he's about to die due to any damage occuring at the time. He dies as you teleport. Where do you go?
- Teleporting through walls. You build a house, and add windows (without glass) for light because glass isn't an option at the moment. You would teleport through a wall, and if not crashing the game, would still be pretty unfair to the player.
I'm all up for the idea, despite my criticism, but the teleporting of the character would need to be within certain limitations.

Why do you think so much stuff would cause a crash?
It's a simple coordinate exchange.

Risk/Reward It would be a viable option to try, but it could also go horribly wrong too.
