Glowstone is quite the impractical solution for lighting. While it does look nice in some texture packs, the loss of a block can be fairly annoying, especially in cramped mines. So, why not allow us to use glowstone dust to create torches?

Glowtorch. Acts as a typical torch, except waterproof. Only makes one.
Pretty simple, but quite useful. The one thing I can think of that might make this difficult would be making the glowtorches NOT affect water.

Hmm? I believe the only difference would be that it works underwater, and you'd still need 4 dust to equal 1 coal...
And how about the light level be 8? Glowstone dust alone doesn't glow much, that's why a glowstone block needs 4 dust.
