The adventure update so far, to me, is interesting, but there seems to be a slight problem so far. Outside of finding an NPC village, there's still not a whole lot of reason to leave your base. You can go explore the underworld, and find cave systems and mineshafts almost unerringly. However, I've yet to find a single picture or account of someone finding an above-ground ruin.
This is problematic to the idea. The biome generation is a little more generic, and while it still LOOKS better than it used to, It isn't as various as before, and things tend to look rather similar. If there's really no reason to branch out, I think 1.8 failed at the original premise: Rewarding the player for exploration.
Now, I don't need to go into heavy discussion on what kinds of dungeons will be made, the rest of the forum is full of wonderful ideas like haunted mansions, pirate coves, or undersea temples. My suggestion is not directly for any of these, rather, for the overall numeric addition to the number of types of dungeons for the adventurer to explore.
Biome specific? Maybe. Overworld only? We certainly need some.
This is less about specific ideas and more about what we, as minecrafters, want to see more of in future updates.

"YES! YES!"
...which is basically affecting specific content, thererfore, it's practically specific content. Or something like that.
