Sharks
Sharks are a new hostile mob that will attack in deep water. They swim faster than players and deal significant damage. Will try to stay in deep water, and will attack each other and squid. Will not attack a player at full health, unless provoked.
DROPS: 1-10 TEETH.
Feeding a Shark a FISH (by hitting it with the fish) turns it passive for a short time, but heals it of all damage. Sharks should only be hunted by the strongest adventurers, because of the great risks and rewards involved with the hunt.
Teeth
TEETH can replace FLINT in the Arrow recipe to do double the damage of a normal arrow.
Other options: TEETH may also replace IRON to produce longer lasting SHEERS. Teeth may also be turned into (several) Bone Meal.
The idea here is to give us something we WANT to kill, but present enough of a challenge, that you probably won't go after these guys without some serious thought. Primarily, I would like to see teeth as an option for stronger arrows. But these others I feel fit the theme of SHARP TEETH as well.

why not just get mo' creatures? that has sharks in it.
I don't know if this is random art, or if someone made a realistic version of the mo' creatures shark, but here's a picture of a shark perfectly suited for minecraft :biggrin.gif:
How would the shark interact with a boat by the way? I see it rushing up and bumping the boat with a chance of destroying it or knocking you out. 10% destroy boat, 25% knock you out, 65% fails at doing anything.
Edit: And people, seriously, the point in posting in the suggestion section is an attempt to get something into vanilla minecraft. Yes, there's probably mods for 80% of what's suggested here, but those features only work for people who have the mod installed. Look at the vertical redstone suggestions for example, I know there's mods for that, but to share a redstone creation using modded vertical redstone, the recipient would have to install that same mod too. And then the mod (and redstone creation) will break with (almost) every update anyway.
Did you not see the sticky "POSTING "THERE IS A MOD FOR THAT" IS A WARNABLE OFFENCE"
For those who never bothered to read it.
"Suggestions is a place to suggest things to add to the base game. Posting "There is a mod for that" is not only unhelpful it is very off-topic so don't do that."
Well my vision of the Shark is that it would be a deep water dweller. So hopefully would not interact with the boats. But I do like the idea of knocking you out of the boat. Makes them a little more dangerous.
I LOVE THAT PICTURE just saying lol. That shark looks wicked mean, and would fit in great in MC!

Well with the new ocean biomes, it's extremely likely you'll be in a boat while island hopping, so it's not exactly unlikely that a shark would see you from deep in the sea and rush up to attack your boat. After all, that's how most shark attacks occur, they see you from below and mistake you for a turtle or seal or something of the sort.

Well, this forum isn't for "There's a Mod for that". I'm suggesting ways to benefit the core game, without modding.
