Many thanks to you all for "Minecraft", now I can leave the real life with a clear conscience =)
Almost.
Actually I would happy completely with a compact redtone circuits. I will try explain my idea to you.
Today we have a huge redstone circuits for factories and farms, amusement, panels, for everything even for a doors. We must hide that circuits in a vast utility rooms which sizes are unreasonably almost always.
What if we can put a completed redstone circuit in single special block? Just imagine:
1. Make any redstone circuit (redstone wires, torches, repeaters and blocks) with any size.
2. Put a special block in your hand. I suggest call it redstone blueprint for a while.
3. Left and right click blocks to set a cuboid's first and second point of redtone circuit (action like region claiming in WorldGuard plugin).
4. Now your circuit "placed" in a special block. I suggest call it redstone machine for a while.
5. Put your redstone machine where you want and use it with a lever, button, plate, etc.
Additionally,
* Physical circuits are not vanish, it just pass information to redstone blueprint. If so, you can edit and fix your circuits.
* Redstone machine can be dropped when you beat it (like most of blocks in game). If so, you can move it and you can sell it in a multiplayers world.
* If your mechanism is too complicated or used pistons, rails, etc., you can use a few parts of mechanism in few redstone machines and connect it with redstone wires (torches, etc). Maybe this feature will require an active sides of redstone machine block... or not :-)
What do you think?
P. S.: I would be very much obliged to english-speaking folk if you translate my text in english =) I'm sorry, it's not my native language and I just study it.
I love ideas like these. But we always have to remember that Minecraft is a Survival game before a creative game and that's why I don't think Mojang spends a lot of time with redstone.
Just my opinion. But I still like the idea :smile.gif:
i love this idea. but i would have a name suggestion. it is more of an IC (integrated circuit) than a machine. you are programming a chip to interact with redstone.

Dear colleagues,
thank you all for attention to a topic.
I can consider a better realization of idea, but I believe developers knows much more about their game and suggest better solution :-) So, a general description of idea is enough at this time.
I don't know how big can be circuit in redstone machine, but I think as much as possible (did you see a circuits of stadium's "wave", rooms of survive shows or 4-bit computer? Good Lord...).
What about Survival mode? This is my favorite mode. And idea of Redstone machine has occurred to me in Survival. My first minecraft building was a castle and town for 14 men in a public server: http://img13.imageshost.ru/img/2011/09/12/image_4e6de95b5d0d4.png . I needs a factories, farms, security, etc., only fancy, a ton of mechanisms!
BTW, I'm not a programmer... =) I'd like if a guys from Creative mode can add something.
>> So essentially, you're suggesting the possibility of fitting these huge machines into one block? ... it would make some things much easier.
Exactly!
Concerning other things I mentioned using all redstone items in Redstone machine and "active sides" for inputs/outputs. And the rest is a sort of questions that make one think.
And a name. Chip is nice too. But actually I don't care about a naming, this is convention only. If an idea will accepted by developers naming is their business :-)
Hm... I don't need a placebo, I'm healthy and strong =)
A topic haven't sense if you talk seriously and I leave it. I believe a developers already have many other good ideas.
Never mind.
Good bye :smile.gif:

And could you show me a rule which forbid suggest a game ideas to game developers, please?
Maybe Notch doesn't read it (official website assure of reverse), it's a pity, but maybe his colleagues reads?
it is kind of like the placebo effect. also no matter what people will post their ideas so by separating them it keeps it out of the main forums.
