I'd like a horticulture update, if that could ever be something people would get behind and want, which seems so incredibly doubtful, but, I think it would be neat to have potted plants and topiary trees and such.
Definitely need more interior decoration items. My bases always feel so empty. A few chests, a few bookshelves, maybe a piston table and stair chair....and that's it.
I think food should go rotten after awhile maybe all meat types after 5 days turn into rotten flesh and bread turns into 1 cobblestoen :biggrin.gif: the only way to fix this is to craft a freezer it carrys half the ammount a normal chest can but stops food from going off and you can make a large freezer like how you make a chets but put the other freezer on top :smile.gif: with animations and everything !
I don't know about you but I don't put bread in my fridge.
Whole point of minecraft is that you are stranded on mysterious new world or "island". May i know where can i get fridge in midle of nowhere ? it takes point of the game and makes it unrealistic.
Hmm... I wonder where I can get a fridge in the middle of nowhere...Oh, what happens if I place a few pieces of ice in a box and put my food in it? It's not like people waited until they could make complex machinery to keep food cold...
I like the idea of extra furniture. Current methods of making furniture (such as sticking signs on stairs or using pistons as tables) always strike me as a bit dodgy, and the end result is often quite ugly. Provided it's done correctly, there's still a lot of customisation to be had with the right furniture blocks. Take the mod known as the Fancy Pack - it provided tables, chairs and vertical slabs, but these could be combined together to make some interesting decorations. For instance, you can have your basic chair, but put a few slabs on and around it and suddenly it becomes a high-backed throne. Or you can have a table by itself as a stool, but several can be placed alongside each other to make bigger tables, or stacked on top of each other to make interesting "art" decor. The results in these cases are far more aesthetically pleasing than the makeshift work-arounds currently available to us.

That's a rather silly criticism - freezers are no less believable than any other element of the game (particularly since ice boxes are hardly complex machinery). I might as well ask how you can get an oven or a bookshelf filled with books in the middle of nowhere.
And for that matter, may I ask how it's possible to punch a tree and extract the trunk at its base without breaking my fist, somehow leaving the rest of the tree to defy gravity in midair?
Or how it's possible to take said trunk and chop it up into planks with no tools whatsoever?
Or how it's possible to walk around with 64 blocks of iron, gold, diamonds and tree trunks in my pocket?
Or how it's possible to stick a metal compass on a sheet of paper and turn it into a map that generates its own ink and automatically fills itself in as I travel?
People. You asking for something that is allready implemented. Just improvize. I can make really nice furniture with 6 wooden planks. You got chairs. Just put stair and 2 signs on right and left. You got tables. Put fence and presure plate on it. You can make table from wooden planks iron block from wood. Minecraft is about building and improvising. You really dont need this to be implemented when you can make it. You can make even carpets just from wool. Here is screenshot of my house from inside.
One room looks OK like that, but after 10 rooms, it starts to get a little repetitive, after 100 it gets really boring, by the end of a thousand rooms every room will look the same as another one did in the past. I'm building a city and a castle right now, and I'm very disappointed by the lack of varied furniture.
If chairs are added, people are still welcome to use staircases as well for extra variance. I would, at least.

Minecraft is more about life. First We Discovered fire. then clothing then blah blah blah blah, generations to generations something is invented and Minecraft is THAT Thing! Minecraft cannot be fun if its stuck being a caveman age. The Game Has Evolution. Make a flashback about minecraft. at dev theres no colored wools. in Minecraft Beta 1.2 Trees are now decaying. in 1.4 - 1.6 Beds, Weather and Wolves Have been added. 1.7 WAS PISTONS WHICH IS GREAT. and look at 1.8.
From a lot of furniture, you can still improvise from stuff like logs, stairs, slabs etc. But you gotta agree, a sorta' sitting motion, just like sitting on a boat or minecart, on a a newly modeled chair OR on a stair, would be just awesome!

Well what of an ice box? If you get ice shards from breaking ice, it can be used to keep food cold. Doesn't have to be an electric fridge.

You know you can get Snow from shoveling it from snowed-over blocks, right? You can even make Snow Blocks from snow. Combine that somehow with a Chest and you've got yourself a food cooling box... Thing. Yeah. Which you can (obviously) stack on top of eachother to make a fridge-looking thing.
Seriously, this isn't a bad idea. Someone should make a mod of this.
I'd even want to go as far as suggesting more space reservations for more paintings. And some kind of a decent-looking trashcan for all that Rotten Meat I don't want.
I don't want to get ahead of things here, but how about if you don't put meatstuffs in a cooler box, it turns into Rotten Meat, and if you don't put Wheat, Melons, Pumpkins, etc in a cooling box, it turns into Compost. Which could replace Bone Meal's function as fertiliser.
If you like my suggestions, give me a rep. Right there on the lower right of this post, buddy.
(yea yea posted a billion times blah blah blah, i just want working furniture so my city can come together more...and so my stuff looks more legit)
Well, that'll be nice. Agreed.
OFFTOPIC : Is your avatar XIII?
Want to play Minecraft SSP like Spaceboot1? Try my modpack, all mods made by me, Spaceboot1!
I agree with this guy. Only a sitting animation, not adding new blocks.

Don't we all. We still have stairs with signs on the side, hahaha.
