So far, the updates have been sporadic, both in release date, and content. i suggest that once we enter 2.0, the updates be on specific dates. weather its annually, semi annually or monthly. and the features just be the things that you have finished. i think that this will make the update process more enjoyable for all, for example, my server is now in flux because we dont want to explore or enter the nether because this would limit the new biomes and the new nether rendering which is coming in 1.9.

After 1.9 the betas are done it will become Minecraft 1.0
Both of you are incorrect. Though illogical, we aren't going to Minecraft 1.0 or beta 2.0....
Notch made a nonsense decision that we enter beta 1.10.... even though, in real decimals, that is the same as beta 1.1, notch says otherwise.

It would be rather nice if you clicked that "+" Over there!
If Notch found it helpful, or easy enough, he would have periodic updates already.
He doesn't.
Notch isnt all knowing, perhaps he didnt think of it, or thought that it was impractical. but a periodic updat would help him to avoid alot of complaints about what was included in the update
Your assumeing that he thought of it, insted, think about what his reasoning for the current update system of updating when they have comlpeted the current roster of updates, which may or may not get finished on time...
additionally, he could not tell us when the update is coming until it is finished. pushing the time line back each week got really annoying
Sorry, but no. Updates will come out when they're ready. Not before, not after. There's no good reason to hold to a specific rigid schedule outside of OCD.

That doesn't seem like something that you would just not think of; more like something you would like to, but cannot, achieve if it suits you.
That's true, and he would probably do it if he could.
