When you right click using a compass, it sets to the point where you are at that moment.
Now that would be useful. However, it might be too easy to do on accident and screw up your marker. Maybe make it a time-based thing, like the new eating? Hold down the right mouse and the compass glows, and records a location?
No, I have walked to a point where I think, I couldn't see it, but it was loaded in the chunks.

My house is never at my spawn. In fact, it's rarely even close to my spawn.
