I was playing some Minecraft, and then it hit me. The cold hard facts of Notch's game hit me like a wall of tears. They.Don't.Have.TOAST!
So, how do you make toast? Well, it's simple. Sort of. More complex than other recipes but easier (maybe?) than some others.
Step 1: Get some seeds!
Step 2: Plant those seeds!
Step 3: Wait... :sad.gif:
Step 4: Gather that wheat!
Step 5: Make that bread!
Step 6: Make a butter knife! But how?
Step 6a: Stick on bottom center, iron in the middle.
Step 7: Mine some iron!
Step 8: Smelt that awesome raw material!
Step 9: Make that bucket!
Step 10: Milk that cow!
Step 11: Make that butter churner! But how?
Step 11a: Wood all around except center + top center. Bucket in center.
Step 12: Put that milk in the butter churner!
Step 13: Right click a bunch of times!
Step 15: Toast that bread in the toaster!
Step 15: Make that buttered slice of toast! But how?
Step 14a: Toast on bottom center, butter in middle.
DING! Food is ready!
Overview:
What are the new items?
The new items would be the knife, slice of bread, butter churner, and butter.
What are the crafting recipes?
1) Butter Knife: Stick on bottom center, iron in the middle.
2) Butter Churner: Wood all around except center + top center. Bucket in center.
3) Buttered bread: Bread on bottom center, butter in middle.
Do you cook toast in the same over you cook a chicken?
Though yes, the furnace would seemingly work fine. Though it mean we would only need a knife to make toast. In that case we might as well just put a whole loaf of bread in the furnace and let it pop out 3 pieces of toast.
I'm not trying to be harsh, only making a point, but now it just sounds like you are making up random nonsense because you haven't thought it through enough.
Silly guidelines like only being able to eat one piece a toast a day will not go anywhere.
Toast could be a good idea, but we just need some ideas to set it apart from other foods.
Now the contradiction:
Well, to be honest whats the difference between pork and beef? Or cooked pork and cooked beef? And chicken too? Seems like there isn't a difference. There are already so many foods that don't do anything special, we might as well be able to put a block of bread in a furnace, throw in a block of wood, and get out a block of toast that just heals a bit more than plain bread.
=]
edit: When I said "heals", I meant "fills up" or "eliminates hunger" or "replenishes the hunger bar"
Well, I sort of posted this thread with only toast in my mind. I didn't mean to think it through because the most powerful thinker is the community itself.
I guess that it would just heal a bit more. Anything else would be over powered :tongue.gif:

Heh, I know. =)
I like the idea that bread would have at least another thing we could do to/with it. Because right now it's pretty boring.
Want me to post a funny thing I just made for you?

Odd.
I feel as though you left out the only really important information to this entire process, the toasting of the bread.
#1 Obtain bread via farming
#2 Slice bread with knife
#3 Toast bread in toaster
Overall neat idea, but would there be a benefit to crafting and eating the toast over just eating a chicken or other food already in-game?
WAIT! Since it's for breakfast you would have more strength, thus more damage, for the whole day!
My bad. If you do that it means you must be messed up :tongue.gif:
So it would render the rest of the foods practically useless? Perhaps that is a bit over powered.
Don't you eman toast in furnace?
Maybe only one per day?

Another thing, maybe you can even burn it? Like you have one second after it's done to take it out?
