I was just thinking in my humble little shack, sheep having become nearly a beast of myth in my world. I caught two sheep in a pen next to my building, they have been there for at least 10 days on end and no wool was regrown. Getting wool has been such an ordeal that I found myself with a giant excess of dyes.
Then it hit me. Dyed Glass Panes. Not to function like regular panes in between blocks in gaps, but to be placed upon blocks like Paintings or Signs.
These semi-transparant Dyed Glass Panes can be any of the existant colors and once placed over any material, it changes the viewing color to that of the Dyed Pane while retaining the texture and block characteristics of the object underneath.
Functionality:
1. Paintings and Signs and the like cannot be placed on blocks which have Dyed Glass Panes on them. The weight of this issue is low because Paintings and Signs are meant to obstruct the view from the block underneath it anyway, making the color useless.
2. Torches and Redstone Torches could not be placed on blocks with Dyed Glass Panes, so lighting and/or redstone systems might have to be altered when using Dyed Glass Panes.
3. Vines cannot grow on Dyed Glass Panes, making them double as an effective anti-vine block coating for your structures if you want to prevent vine growth.
Hit me with some posts if you like, anything will do. I'm expecting to be flamed.
why not a 8x8 or 16x16 crafting table just for them that allows you to dye one pixels at a time for cool stained-glass windows for your house. it would take one glass pain and however many dyes you need to make your depictions of creepers, endermen, and whatever for your house windows?
