the first time I planted seeds I felt a bit like in Harvest Moon. I loved this game and had this idea to create some features of it to Minecraft.
In 1.9 there will be NPCs in the villages. I think it would be a cool idea of the player could meet some girls, give them presents (flowers, a cake, self-crafted jewelry..) and date them. When you are close to her, she will decide to move inside your house, and some day she will be pregnant.
Which leads me to my second thought: aging. When you are old, you die, and you continue to play as your child. Mojang implemented experience in 1.8, maybe to make it possible to learn and increase skills - when you die some of the skills move to your son/daughter.
While i like the idea, its far to off from the idea of minecraft.
Notch really didnt even want to put NPC's in, because one of the original charms of minecraft, was the feeling of loneliness. I just now felt it in this update, because of the empty towns, forgotten strongholds and miles of abandoned mines.
I really hope he puts in the option to turn NPC's off.
Actually I don't like the Sims, it is to much social stuff and to satisfy your sim all day long. Minecraft is about creating, building and exploring. But with NPCs the player would not that be alone and could interact with the villagers. And my idea is to increase this interaction, nothing more, nothing less.
It's a bit far-fetched. Hunger was just implemented - a simplistic feature of RPG. I would say give it time for the NPC's to actually be a normal occurrence in the game before we actually develop love interests towards them. It's fairly decent suggestions, aside from playing as your child which seems kind of irregular.
It's more of a dream rather than a suggestion. The game needs to grow much more before these are even considered in my opinion.

Haha, I was thinking of that too. The Sims 3, it's alright.
OT: That's too far, for minecraft lol. Dating girls, pregnacy, in Minecraft.. No-no.
