I was thinking that our characters should have some realistic movements added to them, like when they're sprinting their arms and legs would bend. I just think it would look cool and would add a human characteristic to our characters. Also, with normal walking I think that can stay the same because, most people when they walk usually don't bend their arms and legs, (depends on who the person is really.)
Now on to swords. Instead, of them just going back into the inventory how about a scabbard? It would also add some realistic things considering, in real life most people back in the medieval times would put their swords in their scabbard.
Before, Notch said that the animations wouldn't look right unless Steve had joints.
After a stack of marijuana jokes, he probably blew it off and tried something else.

Everyone bends their arms and legs when they walk, the joins t]are there for walking. I see nothing wrong with the current movement style
The sheath Idea could be interesting though, maybe it would hold you item in a visible slot so others on multiplayer could see it, or it maybe it would reduce wear on your sword (like a real sheath would) maybe reducing the damage dealt to the sword by 1/4th, maybe it would give the player an extra slot of accessible item that they could put their sword in, maybe accessible by a key close to wsad so it could be drawn faster, or a combination of all 3

Yeah, that was pretty stupid of me to think arms and legs don't bend when they walk, haha. I like the current movement style too, it's just if Notch wanted to take a more realistic turn towards movements, that's the way.
Also, I like your ideas on the sheath.

Just some thoughts though.
Yeah, I think they're the same though. :tongue.gif:
