Earlier today i was playing some solo survival, exploring, chopping a couple of trees, and looking for a good place to plant my home. i found a fantastic cliff facing east when i realized it was getting dark, for temporary shelter i made a mud and stone hut to wait out the night. While waiting inside i looked out on the windy grassy plane and saw sheep, cows, pigs, and... i realized it too late, i had met eyes with an enderman way off on the horizon.in three puffs of smoke the gaping horrid maw of the enderman was at my door, reeling with rage and he wanted my blood. as i sat in the corner crying he moved away from the door, then i heard a zombie. i thought "Great, i don't need both of these things"
Looking out my windows, however, i saw no zombie, only the tall void of a monster. that's when i realized that it was HIM making those identical un-terrifying gurgles. i walked outside, chopped him up, and continued to wait til dawn.
Talk about combo breaker. it was similar to watching a scary movie, then seeing the zipper on the back of the antagonists costume.
So i was trying to think of the most frightening sound i've heard irl, which was a cougar.
this is the best i could find while the topic was in my head.
or maybe a whale?
If you wanted to get a few select whale sounds i'm sure you could mess the pants of a few more Minecrafters :tongue.gif:
or, have what the enderman would be like in the one video online, where it was whispering in your ear, that'd scare ppl, or at least, put them on edge...
i'd have them act almost if not exactly like this...
(thanks to SSLithuania)
omg i just noticed the whisper untill half the video that is scary
Many shows and cartoons use sounds that come from animals that are not anywhere near what is visually represented.
I think this is on the right track. Good idea.
This is what i was thinking exactly. not a lot of people have heard cougar screams, or if you distort a whale sound slightly in a totally different environment, it won't be a whale sounds, it'll belong to what you attach it to.
maybe at the moment you look at an enderman, when it opens its mouth, it could make a bone crackling noise <3
Just some simple sounds file swaps and i can annoy my flatmates even more with my terrified shrieks :tongue.gif:
Endermen should possess the ability to emit quiet audio distortion when you are nearby, in respect to the Slenderman, the original idea towards Endermen.

How about a ghost sound?

didnt they give him a zombie voice because it "tricks" you its a zombie and that leaving him silent would make it look unfinished

Come on, these sounds are the best ones and should be used.
