I think that uploading mods should be as easy as uploading texture packs. I have spent HOURS ON END trying to figure out how to download mods, usually an error message stops me. I have tried watching videos on youtube, and none of them help. I am sure countless others out there have had the same problem.
Have no fear. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Mojang plans to add mod support to Minecraft in the future or something. Although I was tired at the time. And I had been picking at my eyes because one of them was infected. And I had been swimming in a pool with too much chlorine. And that was the hour my glasses were at Lens Crafters. But I read it!...probably.
I tried the Apothecary Mod, and i keep getting various 7-Zip errors, like "Operation is not supported" or something. I think i accidentally deleted my minecraft.jar, but i can still play.
Mods are very frustrating! I too have spent houres on end trying to install mods. Minecraft has a ... Game starter and the Game itself. why not add a drag and drop style ad-on that can be started through a tab on the Game's menu? It'll open up a finder screen ( i have a mac ) that one side has your downloads and the other is a mods folder that is generated by minecraft. then just drag the mods into the folder and it's over. 1 minute spent.

Then it either redownloaded the minecraft.jar or you never deleted it. I personally use Winrar, and I have never had a problem. Just download the mod file, open it in Winrar, open minecraft.jar in Winrar, copy files from the mod file into minecraft.jar.
While I support making it easier, 4 steps is not complicated.

Use the search bar Luke. I think you'll find that mod support has been suggested many many times.

NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.
Yes, something like Modloader imbedded into vanilla Minecraft would definitely save players a lot of headache. Just drag and drop the zip files into the mods folder, why not?

2. How can one have such difficulty with mods? I am a very dumb individual, and I have installed several mods onto the same .jar with no difficulty.
