A lot of people build computers with redstone and such, but this is time consuming and almost impossible for the most of us. My idea is that you could have a computer that only takes up a couple of blocks rather than a few kilometers. Its youse would be the ability to control your redstone circuits from a distance- you could craft receivers that would activate and send out a current when a button is pressed on the computer- you could control all kinds of things from one place.
It would be crafted like so: []
[] [] []
This would make the circuit board (sand for silicon)
This would make the monitor.
This makes the "box"
To make the computer you place the upon each other on the crafting cake like so:
[] []
[] []
[] []
Where glass is the monitor, gold is the circuit board and iron is the box.
Please leave comments and suggestions.
Thanks.
EDIT
Stop thinking of it as a computer. I envisioned it as more of a control station for redstone receivers so you could control your circuits from a distance. Recipe:

I hope you know what redstone computers are NOT what conventional computers are. They do basic things. Don't expect to be able to boot up a redstone computer and start playing minecraft.
Also, a big NO on the suggestion. Does not fit in with the feel of minecraft, as everyone else on the thread will say.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
So basically you want to put the housr of peoples hard work designing and building into single blocks? Do you realize the coding you would have to do to make those blocks work like their 1:1 scale counterparts?
No, just... no...

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
