Hello everyone! This is my first time posting, after a little bit of research i did on the forum nothing came up with my idea so i thought "hey, seems like a good time to start posting".
First of all, I wanna say that since i'm from Brazil my english grammar is not as sharp as yours, so excuse me if I make any horrible mistakes.
So I really enjoyed the new eviroment and natural landscapes as well as the NPC villages, even tought a haven't seen any. I was thinking of a way to make the surface exploration even more interesting so it came up to me. The NPC villages are almost always the SAME thing. In EVERY single Biome. As well as the mobs you encounter.
So the idea I had is to create a new variety of mobs and villages depending on the biome
It would work like that, you have the mobs that exist right now and they're "enviroment neutral" wich means they appear in every biome, but every biome would have it's unique set of mobs with unique loot. It would work like that with villages as well.
For example, in a very snowy biome you could eventually encounter Polar Bears and Pinguins, and the village in these biomes would be made out of iglus and constructions to stand the cold
In the desert it could be somo sort of arab style village with giant lizzards or something.
So, what do you guys think?
well I think in the right numbersa nd combinations it could work, but of course this would add a lot and take up alot of time to do. I suppose if some villages were the same for different biomes ex. jungle and swamp maybe. any way decently good.
To correct you NPC villages have their own biome.
"he NPC villages are almost always the SAME thing. In EVERY single Biome."
Wow, didn't know that, thanks for clearing that up!
I read about the update and played the pre-release a little bit, i did not know that villages had their own biome, perhaps it would be more interesting to adapt them to existing biomes.
The surface is a lot more fun now, the canyons and rivers add a lot to the experience but in the end it always seems to be about the mining. At least that's my thought after playing the pre-release
I do realise that mining might be THE point of the game but i think that if surface exploration is to be taken to a hole new level then the focus should be about the biomes, and creating different things and difficulties for each one.
I study architecture and i had this idea in a class i'm taking this semester about how we can addapt buildings to the regions weather to diminush the use of air-conditioning. The main examples that we have are from ancient local architecture, like medieval arab houses in the Middle East, native american huts in the rain forest and that kind of thing. It hit me that it would be a nice addition to minecraft as well
I would totally agree, but 1.8(the full one not the pre-release) is taking to long. With Notch and Jeb working on 1.8, they aren't working on 1.9(which is the update with npc's).

95% of teens would scream if Justin Beiber was about to jump of the top of the Empire State Building. If you are in the 5% that would grab a seat and some popcorn and yell JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! post this into your sig.
You know you want too

Yeah, i do realise that IF they see my idea and IF they like it then it would take some good amount of time to actually do it. I'm not a game designer, everything related to gaming code is completely out of my range of knowledge, what I could do is construct in game using the creative mode what i think the houses should be like....
