Well, since the endermen drop an ender pearl, which is useless (The wiki is inaccurate), it should have a use.
My idea is if you right click a block while holding the Ender Pearl, the ender pearl is lodged into the block.
This would be like a spawn.
If you right click with another ender pearl, you are automatically teleported back to the pearl.
A pearl is destroyed if you use it.
Not the one you hold, but the one in the block, or else it'd be too overpowered.
Uses:
Lost in a cave
Stuck
Running from PVP
Running from monsters
ETC
EDIT: If you place another ender pearl somewhere else, you'll only teleport to the first one you placed.
For ssp, I think your idea is fantastic. I always wanted something like this. I had a vague idea making some type of teleportation block with the ender pearls, and this is what I was thinking.
It needs something to keep it from being the only way to travel. The pearl used to trigger the teleport would have to be consumed in the process, or else people would never walk home again.

Nope.
No, it doesn't.
The wiki is inaccurate.
Also tools and armour with it could be cool.

Good idea.
Lemme edit the post.
