Hello Minecraftians and welcome to my latest suggestion!
I awoke this morning to game some minecraft, but had to stop to take care of my unrelenting hunger. That's when I thought of this: I think if you sleep in Minecraft, when you awake in the morning, you should be hungrier then when you fell asleep. For example: I go into bed with a full "hunger bar" and awake without a full "hunger bar". If you go to sleep with a near empty bar, it becomes empty; if you go to sleep with an empty bar (not even sure that's possible), you awake with an empty bar.
I find this idea should be implemented for a couple reasons;
1. I think it would add an aspect of realism (yes, I know Minecraft isn't realistic, but still)
2. I have always thought beds took away from the fun/difficulty of Minecraft, what with being able to skip night and all.
So, for those reasons, I feel sleeping should also have a bit of a down side; say losing x amount of "food", for example.
Now, I would love for you guys to participate in the poll, state your feelings on this suggestion in the comments below, and maybe even suggest how much "food" you should lose, and if it is reasonable, I may add it to this post. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day!
A lot. I think that a given percent of your hunger should be taken away, maybe 40? So sleep on a full stomach and you end up with 60, etc. Its a downside to beds but nothing deadly.

So are you suggesting it be a percentage? So if you have 10/10 (or 20/20, technically), you end up with 6/10 (12/20) and if you have 5/10 (10/20) you end up with 3/10 (6/20).. hmm, not bad, but I think I would prefer if it were a static number. With percentage it could easily get confusing, even though the concept is simple.

If I'm not mistaken, that is simply a bug and is only intended for Creative, but somehow ended up in Survival. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

More like you don't wake up, haha. I like this idea.
I was going to say that.. but I figured if you're going to sleep with an empty bar, you're screwed anyway, ahah :laugh.gif: .

Yeah, you're 100% correct. It was a debug, and Notch wants us to test it out for creative. :smile.gif:
