I was thinking about how skill points might factor into Minecraft. So far, it's confirmed that collecting experience orbs will allow you to level up, and every time you level up, you gain skill points, which you can use to increase certain stats on your character. What are your ideas for different skills that would fit in the minecraft universe?
Confirmed Skills:
Vigor- Increases your maximum health
Acrobatics- Increases your jump height
My Ideas:
Agility- Increases your sprint speed
Reach- Increases the the distance from which you can mine
Stability- Increases the size of your personal inventory
Charisma- Increases your ability to befriend town NPCs
Luck- Increases the chance that you receive double the drops from mining an ore/killing a mob
Stealth- Decreases your aggro radius while sneaking

Um, one, they guy was defending you, and two, he was referring to the act of saying "there is a mod for that," which the first reply pointed out, not your post... Were you intending to reply to the first reply instead of the second reply???

Oh I see, I misread and thought he was saying that there's already a suggestion for this.
Here is my thought.
There are a few different ways to play the game, and the skills should help each player play his/her way "better." So for folks who are into survival, combat skills such as higher damage crits or more common crits would be nice. I would especially like to see those skills built "per monster," so that you can be better at killing skeletons, but not zombies, with your first skill point, and then buy an advantage vs zombies next.
For folks who like farming, a skill that makes plants grow faster or yield more?
For folks who like mining, a skill that breaks bricks faster (not superbreaker, just, say, a 5% decrease in time for regular mining)
For those of us who are stingy, a repair skill or a skill that makes tools last longer.
For woodcutters, a skill that lets you cut wood faster, or that lets you get all wood 5 spaces above you when you chop all wood below that level in a tree (so you don't have to build a dirt hill to finish clearing a tree).
If trade is available, a skill that lets you get slightly better deals?
