I'm pretty aure that 80% of you reading this have played the 1.8 Pre-Release, and thus have experienced the frustration of accidentally looking at a nearly invisible Enderman in the depths of a cave. I propose a simple solution to this nearly unavoidable problem: Endermen should only spawn in moonlight.
This makes sense for a couple of reasons. First of all, it would make Endermen stand out more from other mobs, just like how slimes can only be found in the deepest of depths. Secondly. it would avoid the aforementioned cave problem. Finally, it would discourage Endermen mob grinders, making Ender Pearls more valuable.

yeap well if you wear a pumpkin on your head then its problem solved <.<
no need to change anything if your too lazy to put a simple pumpkin on your head
I'm not going to play 1.8 until its actual release, but I do see where you're coming from. I certainly agree with you. Seeing an Enderman in a cave just doesn't seem right. Endermen being elusive and mysterious lurkers who wander the surface sounds a lot more fear-based, which is what Mojang's original intention is. If you're walking down a tunnel, you will most likely be attacked by one just because you accidentally glanced at it.

The problem is that putting a pumpkin on your head to protect yourself greatly obscures your vision.
Lol I had the same idea. I will be quite afraid of caves now... them farlanders can roam the land at night... but I better not find one in mah mine shaft >:T
lol I'm kidding, but even still...

alot of texture packs change the pumpkin blur to something diffrent i know gerudoku does a very well done H.U.D and steampunk does a divers helmet i just put the geru doku pumpkin blur into the default textures of mc and it works perfectly
I really can't argue with that, though I do think the game should work perfectly without any modification.

Also, it makes no sense.
