Hello. I welcome you to my first idea, and post.
Electro Gravitism. I know what you are thinking, out of year range. But this was thought of as early as the 1700s.
Idea: Elevators, floating sand/gravel,etc.
To create such a device, you will need two Redstone repeaters, a bucket of lava, creating the Electro Magnetic Gravitic Enigine, the EMG brick.
To create the so called EMG brick, you first need to build the Repeaters, gather the lava, and Iron.
Crafting an EMG brick:
I will now show you, with pictures, the crafting of an EMG brick.
:Bucket of lava. =Redstone Repeaters.
:Flint and Steel: =Lever
Everything else is the same.
:Flint and Steel:
It may seem expensive, but it soon may be worth it to you when your building your floating sand castle or escaping the Monsters.
That will give you an EMG brick, the lever controls up and down movements.
One click brings you up.
One stops you.
Another brings you down.
If you are planning on putting multiple bricks on one EMG brick, you will have to fight this equation:
-E=f
lim-
q->0q
In which means the more weight you put on itm the slower it will go.
Please give me feedback, and if enough people approve or disprove of the idea I will add a poll.
Thank you for your time, I am most grateful.
Overtly complicated. Remember simplicity. It should be obtainable with only 1 crafting recipe, or 2 simple ones, such as redstone repeaters, where you have to craft redstone torches before making it.

Ah. I get what your saying. Overly complicated. I can make that better. A bucket of lava, 2 Redstone repeaters(Replacing turbines) and iron bars replacing gold? Is that good? I like how you guys tell me what you feel. I hope I can make this topic better for you.

Might work out if the electromagnetic thing was something less technology and more magic, although minecraft isn't really magic. Maybe it will work as another random block like pistons and jukeboxes, etc. It certainly isn't a bad idea, but it might be a bit better as a mod. Continue being unique, sir.

Pistons exist now? Ever since my computer messed up MC I havent been able to play. Isnt Redstone magic, or is it just like gunpowder? A bit of the idea is magic, defying the laws of gravity is magic, isnt it? Or is it just elictricity? A random block would be nice, but arent random blocks useless basically like bookshelves? I am sorry for all my questions. Thank you for your comment.

Yeah. I won't go into detail about them, but they are different from the mod.

Generally speaking, it as accepted as being magic.

Well, I suppose it is magic, not really anything like an elevator... So, I suppose yes, it is a magic block.

Bookshelves are an aesthetic block, random would be the ones that wouldn't seem to fit into minecraft: pistons, jukeboxes, noteblocks, etc.
I am sorry for all my questions.
'Tis perfectly fine.
Thank you for your comment.
Thank you for thanking me.
Oh. Thank you for responding. I find you a very nice guy. I would not mind it being a random block then. I support your opinion!
Ha, that's the first time anyone has ever called me a nice guy. Of course I do usually post on bottom-quarter-quality threads, so I suppose it is to be expected. Anyways, I support this idea!
My general idea of random blocks are just the unexplained "misfits" of the blocks.
This idea is great! It is simpler than the betterthanwolves mod as it doesn't require a lot of pointless windmills and a different binary wire to keep things 'realistic'.
This, if ever made into the game, should use something like the zepplin mod's brick-to-enity system, but keep it aliened with the x and z axis. It will also only move vertically, which will stop it from flying away. Maybe you it only goes up/down when there is active redstone nearby to keep it from flying up to the ceiling of the map?
Great idea!

Floating stuff has been done. Zephlin (I think that's how you spell it) mod is a mod where you can make any building less than 1024 fly in the air.
It is not necessarily an elevator, it can carry bricks heavily to. This is my last post today. Good night. Thank you for commenting.
