I know it's been posted. I'm going to post it in a better, more explanatory way. Animals really wouldn't stay near you if you hit them with a giant blue sword. I know I wouldn't. So why do the animals in our game do that? i was thinking, Notch should make it so animals flee if you hit or shoot them. They run away, the more hurt inflicted on them, the faster. So they get a chance to live. They sprint 8 blocks and then kind of jog in a way. (The jog : Take the walking speed, turn it up an 8th or two.) Tell me your thoughts
"" A short while ago, Notch talked about some of the exciting behavioral changes in animals for 1.8 - most notably, how they will now flee when attacked, rather than stand there and stare at you. This ended up having the added effect of wolf attacks looking more "natural", in a sense, as prey would now flee its attacker, rather than look around blankly and grunt. He went on to say that - due in part to the behavioral changes, and a desire to see more dynamic mob-to-mob interactions - he is beginning a super-secret weekend project! What does it entail?
I've noticed that whenever Notch posts something about a future update, a bunch of people immediately post the stuff he said was going to be in the update as if they had thought up the idea. I'm not sure why, perhaps they want the credit for an idea that isn't theirs?
You may not have intentionally done so, but there is slim chance that you would have just coincidentally thought this up right after he posted the ideas.
