Now, i think minecraft is long overdue for more water content. This is a big one, so stay with me. All of these are my ideas, but loosley inspired by a recent thread that i feel didn't add enough detail to the concept at hand.
Idea #1: scuba gear. This idea is not mine, for many people have touched on the issue that minecraft needs a way to extend the time spent exploring below water.
Idea #2: Water Biomes
Coastal: water that is near sand with dolphins, fish, and squid
Littorial: Lakes and closed-in bodies of water
Pelagic: Oceans Sea level until 32 below, containing squid, fish, and dolphins.
Bethnic: Bottom of the ocean, where Krakens and Leviathans live, with Underwater volcanos, and lots more. It is verry dangerouse exploring this part of the ocean and requires some form of scuba gear.
Reef: A place with coral, anemonies, dolphins and fish
Idea #3 Water mobs
Now, i think there should be a tamable mob, an aggressive mob, a neutral mob, and a passive mob for each terrain (ie, land water and nether) And wolfs can't accompany you underwater, so dolphins would be a great idea for tamable mobs, as they're friendly and social, like wild dogs.
Fish need to be a mob, or at least an indicator, a small flat animation that swims through the oceam.
Krakens: a faster, larger version of the squid, but is easy to dodge as it uses the squids same movement pattern (short bursts fallowed by a slight pause).
Leviathan: A Large Water Mob (20m tall 50m long, to stay true to the leviathan of myth) that is neutral.
I am open to critisism, and would love to hear people expand on these ideas.
Scuba gear, in my opinion is unnecessary. It would just clutter the game with unneeded sidesteps. But I like the biome ideas with specific mobs in different water areas. And I think we can all agree that we need new and more varied water mobs.
Btw, I think it's a nice idea but what would the motivation be to go in the ocean to risk your own life? Treasure chest? idk. Seems pretty 'pointless' sorry :I
