When ever people go to sleep their eyes are still wide open and it doesn't look right in multiplayer. I thought that maybe when skinning a character there could be a secind face that is displayed while sleeping. The default would just be exactly the same but with closed eyes. This would also help with minecraft machinimas if they wanted to do a scene with a sleeping person.
Seems incredibly pointless to add another part to the skin file just so it looks right when someone is asleep in SMP, especially seeing how beds in SMP are pointless anyways.

Not entirely pointless, some people like to not use mods/Bukkits in SMP servers and like to survive with friends. IE: Yogscast, Pyro and Erik, 2girls1minecraft, ect.
It's not called shitting on a suggestion
It's called criticism
Learn to live with it, because it's apart of life, especially in forums.
We are in the suggestion part, they can be as precarious as they want. I think what it is, is he posts on his own knowledge... knowing him, having so many posts, he doesn't really care about the small "pointless" threads, because he probably has seen way to many of them (I don't blame him) but sometimes, it's okay to agree with the small stupid things.
Well, the simplest way to fix this would be to change the beds and not the characters.
So when a character goes to bed instead of just laying down the character will jump under the sheets dragging the covers over their head (and maybe add some floating Z's over their head).
For other players all you would see is a bed with the outline of a player character under the covers and the name of the player (and possible some floatings Z's over the head to illustrate them sleeping).
They seem to be more pointless on SMP, as you need everyone to be in a bed at once to skip the night. As Pug said, that is fine on smaller servers or one with only a few friends playing but on large servers getting multiple people to go to a safe bed to skip the night is nigh impossible. And if everyone is sleeping, who is going to be looking at the people who are asleep? So it seems like a rather niche addition.
:S I love how Bradprenup Shits on everyone's suggestions. >.>
I most certainly do not. I submit every thread and every poster to the exact same criteria and criticism. If someone is rude I call them out on it. If a post is not well thought out (or I don't think it is), I ask questions or state my thoughts on it. And I hope everyone else does the same to me. I may not always be the kindest soul in the world, but I am (almost always) polite and civil about my opinions.
