You might want to look at the Wild Grass mod, if this ever gets made they should be compatible. Also, I think I've already hit the mob limit for one biome...
are ther venus fly traps in the wildgrass mod? that would also be quite fun! it would be like half a heart gone when you step on them.
would you mind giving some screenshots of the other biomes? cuz i really wanna see!
The venus flytrap isn't even textured yet, and I've barely been working on the other biomes.
I just spent a lot of time learning how to use redstone to make traps for the Overgrown Dungeon (pictures coming soon!)

oh, and theres a thing called falling gravel and pistons. i also heard there are pressure plates (hint hint)
Good idea, but maybe that can be saved for another dungeon.
Presenting: The Overgrown Dungeon!
While other dungeons such as Strongholds and Abandoned Mines are focused on fighting, the Overgrown dungeon is focused more on platforming and puzzle-solving (mostly platforming, though.)
Because of this, every block that makes up the dungeon will be unbreakable and the player will be unable to place blocks inside until the dungeon has been beaten.
Here's one example of such a dungeon.
The hidden entrance.
The first chamber, featuring some lava and a simple
piston trap!
The second chamber, featuring loads of jumps and moving blocks, as well as some tricky dispensers.
A view of the lava down below.
A caved-in section of the chamber, where nature is starting to reclaim the land.
A timed piston-puzzle. You have to activate the lever and run past the obstacles in time to activate the missing part of the staircase:
After some more moving walls, you get to the third chamber, which is filled with lava holes and mob spawners.
The treasure chest, guarded by several skeleton spawners!
An example of the loot. (The things on the outside are glowstone blocks.)
Once the chest is right-clicked, all blocks become destructible once more, and you can build.
They basically look like a swarm of tiny, moving black dots and are more of an animated block than a proper mob. You can walk through the block without any problems except them clouding your vision... however, sprinting through a midge swarm will result in a dozen or so large black spots on the screen (like a pumpkin blur) that last for longer and make it seriously hard to see. Also, you will stop sprinting.
If there were a way to disperse/attract midge swarms, you could have a whole bunch of em around a moat or whatever, and thus prevent people from sprint-jumping across it.
Good idea! I was thinking that they would be an entity that would aimlessly fly around about one or two blocks above ground level, and walking into them would make you lose half a heart and temporarily go blind.
I was also thinking of will-o-the-wisps, which are basically the same, but instead of hurting you they spread light around them.
Good idea, but maybe that can be saved for another dungeon.

Well wisps would be cool, they'd definately add to the atmosphere of it. It might be better to retcon that swamp-fire thing into a wisp rather than add them as a new mob though. Purely because the fire thingy seems a bit too ghast-like atm.
Also, as a passive mob; frogs or toads or something similar would definately suit a swamp. Although the mob list would be getting pretty ridiculous if they were added too.
EDIT:
Ah, okay. I didn't notice that it said they couldnt be added.
The Floating Flamme shoots fire like a flamethrower, not fireballs like a Ghast.
AKA: short range and constant, not long range projectile.
I freaking love this! But seriusly, do please not use the cockatrice from Aether. It kinda ruins it when you take something from other mods... :sad.gif:
>_<
Firehazurd made the original cockatrice as I put it: swamp dwelling, with a paralyzing gaze.
He also made a "Sky Moa" intended to be in the Aether.
The Aether developers took the cockatrice, made it shoot poison darts, and stuck it in the Aether along with 3 other moa types...

Nope, but I have something similar planned for the jungle biome.

BOOYAH XD
lava, gravel, piston, pressure plate. nuff said.
Idea!
Snow = Yeti! (Basically bigger, white, hairy zombies
Desert = Scorpion! (Like silverfish, but they do more damage and spawn naturally)
Mushroom = (Kind of trolling) Smurf! Tiny blue NPCs that scream at you when you approach.
ETC
Good idea, but maybe that can be saved for another dungeon.

You can't remove or place blocks until you've opened the chest at the end of the dungeon.
awesome, simply awesome! *cough* nether dungeon *cough*

Otherwise, this might be exactly what I've been waiting for in a long, long time.

Check out "The New Nether" for that.
WHY DO RANDOM ASSHOLES TAKE MY IDEAS EVEN BEFORE I COME UP WITH THEM!? well can you at least make a nether dungeon.
