I don't like how you wanna have 50% of the total amount of mobs in Minecraft concentrated in the swamp, we really just need the alligator and cockatrice, and just that no other mobs would spawn there is a poor excuse for wanting to have a longer topic :dry.gif:
Do people know how to read anymore?
If you're still uptight about the amount of content for the swamp biome, I will be making other topics for the rest of the biomes, as well.
Well, it looks like it. Did you just retexture some blocks when you were showing the dungeon, it looks an awful lot like a mod. Minus the no download and people saying "if this were a mod". Ah well, it looks great though.

BF109Pilot: doing his best to help others in need (and I've heard say that I'm not the best in the biz)

That was a texture pack, it's in the suggestion thread, and no download was given. There weren't even any hints at a mod, and I specifically stated that it's not a mod in the last sentence.
I don't see where the confusion is.
Wow, very nice! But I have three suggestions, maybe, to add these...
Perhaps there could be EXTREMELY rare hermit huts with an old hermit inside. He basically would be like an Enderman but a lot better. He could use magic to instantly teleport to you no matter how far away you are or if you're sprinting. He would still only punch you, but his punches are just too awesome to be using any weapon or magic. His drop would be a single diamond. His damage would be 4 on easy, 5 on normal and 6 on hard. He would live in a wooden house made of a newer, darker wood (second suggestions)that basically is a wood that grows much darker than others and, when crafted into planks, would be a bit darker as planks, too. This tree would only grow in the swamp, by the way. If this seems like a good idea, then have the hermit's home be made of that. Now, here is my third and final suggestion.. How about, we add a newer form of water transportation? Let me explain..
Basically, my idea is a hollow log. It would be crafted with 4 pieces of wood and a stone axe. This would be crafted into a boat, basically, but it has a durability which could be around a minute or two. Thanks a lot, if you're reading this, and you have some awesome ideas!
P.S. Here's a skin for the hermit. It's got that 'kind of bad texture' Minecraft feel, so I kept the noise out of it and made it more or less solid colors for his clothing and skin.

I like the idea of the boat, but not so much the hermit. For one thing, the mob cap is pretty much reached. For another, it's a bit strange of an idea: I would prefer that, once a quest system is implemented, he gives very tough quests with good rewards.
Also, Minecraft's original textures DO have noise. If they didn't, they'd look pretty weird.
Amazing, amazing mod. I wish Notch would take some of these features into consideration. The new Swamp Biome is not even swampy. It's just shallow water and vines. :|

If you click this link you will laugh. Guaranteed.
(that's right, INFINITY DIAMOND! Gold, Iron and coal will go bankrupt. Minecraft will go bankrupt. Umad creepers? Umad other jelli miners?)
Then overhaul the other biomes and receive
INFINITY NOTCHES!!!
:biggrin.gif:
ALSO
A suggestion: Perhaps there should be a small (about as thick as snow) layer of mist that cover the ground in swamps; I feel it would add greatly to the ambience. This mist is white-grey and covers water, too.
ANOTHER SUGGESTION:
Special swamp music and ambiences? Perhaps when you enter a swamp area the music changes and you hear occasional... swampy ambiences (birds chirping, water moving, leaves rustling)
AND ANOTHER:
Fog turns grey in swamps (same color as fog)
This has probably been suggested already, but just in case :smile.gif:
Good idea, but maybe that can be saved for another dungeon.
Presenting: The Overgrown Dungeon!
While other dungeons such as Strongholds and Abandoned Mines are focused on fighting, the Overgrown dungeon is focused more on platforming and puzzle-solving (mostly platforming, though.)
Because of this, every block that makes up the dungeon will be unbreakable and the player will be unable to place blocks inside until the dungeon has been beaten.
Here's one example of such a dungeon.

Let me know what you think.
Imagine the difficulty in coding something like this to randomly generate, with redstone traps, water and lava, unless you want it it be EXACTLY the same every time (Which would suck), especially how its supposed to be hidden. With a randomly generated location and design, how could notch do this???

I'll try to make it a mod after all of the overhauls are done. And I will add ambience to all of the biomes, I don't know about the mist, though.

Yeah, it would be complicated, but look at our current dungeons.
The "dungeons" are one small room with a different mob spawner.
The strongholds are massive jumbled stone bricks slapped together.
The abandoned mines are basically caves with wood walls and some rails on them.
I don't think that three or four different kinds of preset dungeons would be THAT bad, since they would be pretty rare.
hey i wonder if you've given Mangrove swamps a look
the water depth for these extension to swamp would be greater
tree seeds must be planted under water
their roots go deep into the water
they would make up the border between a swamp biom and an ocean biome
Do people know how to read anymore?
Get a team o' modders and make this.

I was also bought in with that crocodile...I'm a sucker for reptiles. XD

I tried to add more vines with the overgrown dungeon, but thanks for your support.
Always open to critique and suggestions. (:
I'm going to dig underground and make a mine!
BANG! Bedrock mossy cobblestone encounter.
Wouldn't that be a good thing...? You dig up until you find the entrance. Conquer the dungeon, acquire goodies, resume mining.
Plus, that'd only happen if you decided to make a mine under a swamp, for whatever reason.

Not sure if trolling, or just stupid.

I can tell you the size of each one if you need to know.

oh and don't forget the cave mites you cant forget em

the only change i would make is take away to sugar canes and add 2-3 long vines random at the threes
