The new dungeon is very good. It would probably not be as complex as you are hoping - the strongholds and mine shafts look like they won't be very complex as far as puzzles, but will be interesting and fun to go through. And while it's easy to say that players simply can't destroy blocks in these dungeons until they get to the chest:
a) that wouldn't be very easy to implement. Aether mod got it right by having boss mobs - once those mobs died, you could destroy blocks. But having that based on the opening of a chest would be near-impossible to accomplish.
:cool.gif: the likelihood that Notch would allow indestructible dungeons like that is quite slim. I think he intends his strongholds to simply be monster-infested, multi-storied pits that offer a bit more of a unique challenge, but don't really force the player to think about puzzles or anything like that.
Regardless, it's a nice concept. Looking forward to your other biome overhauls! :smile.gif:

I like the idea of having uniqe monsters spawning in swamp instead of regular ones,so when u find a swamp (biomes in 1.8 would be much larger) it will be a hole new experience for player and exploration will be rewarded with special items which can be only founded in swamp. Good work :smile.gif: !!!
That's exactly my intentions. Currently, you can find everything you'll ever need to survive within a single chunk (16x16x64 blocks.)
Nice idea and well thought out.
Also, ever thought if turning the swamp into another dimension?(<--- spelled right?.)
because it's so different from Minecraftia?.
Cool! i wish notch implemented this because the swamp not as swampy as the one you make...
also herbalism is a good idea but actually more broad because not only in swamp, you can also have it in forest, even ocean.
But herbalism and swamp actually have a good connection because swamp is usually where the witch lives and witch like to brew crazy things using mysterious ingredients :wink.gif:
That sounds great, but I'm confused about the Cocatrice. You showed a dark figure in between two bird things. Does it turn into the bird when you look at it (or vice versa)?

Yeah! Herbalism wouldn't be exclusive to the swamp, but you could find a lot of plants there.
The cockatrice came from a suggestion by Firehazurd, which included the moa, too. The Aether people included the cockatrice and moa from Firehazurd's suggestion but changed it, making the cockatrice shoot poison darts and making three types of moas.
Equeon is suggesting adding the cockatrice to the vanilla Minecraft swamp, but keeping it as it was in Firehazurd's suggestion.

Yea, so now when another super mod is adding the same mob, it makes it... less super.
This isn't a mod suggestion. This is a suggestion for actually improving the biomes (in this case, the swamp) in vanilla Minecraft. No need to be so cynical.

It's intended as a suggestion, but I'm perfectly fine with it becoming a mod in the future.
After all, we can't expect Notch to implement exactly what he sees, and with such an expansive overhaul planned for all the biomes, he may get INSPIRED (if he even sees the topics) but will not implement it all.

plz clicks dont let it die
Penguins, Snow monsters.
Buffalo, lions. It would be sick!
Oh also biome specific monsters are really easy to code. The problem I faced was the modeling.
I am confused though, is this a mod in progress or just a suggestion?

Augh, you guys rush me! I'm not even done with the swamp biome yet!
Just a suggestion, unfortunately. Once it's done, I'll try to see if it can be made into a mod.

I love you; please have my babies.
Thanks! Support is always great :smile.gif:
Not a mod, sorry.

I wish people wouldn't be so ignorant.
