In my opinion through a 2 block thick wall you should not be able to hear a mob, the reason i say 2 is because through a 1 block thick wall you should be able to hear it faintly, but at a 2 thickness you shouldn't be able to hear it at all.
And the same for thunder, but since thunder tends to be a lot louder it should be 3, and 2 will be fainter, 1 will be even fainter and 0 walls you hear it perfectly.
Although all that makes sense, you have to remember something: THIS IS MINECRAAAAFT!! We even have floating trees. DEAL WITH IT.
well ye i mean, i dont want the game to be all realistic, just some aspects of realism would be nice, and some can be left out... like "Floating trees"
Makes sense, I just don't find it's that big of a deal. Maybe they will get around to doing something about it someday.
Ye its definitively not a big deal, i see something like this being a little kinda side project that they might do. It isn't something needed but it would make the game a little more interesting.
well that's kinda the point, the sound is muffled at a certain block thickness. like if u have a 2 layer wall or something, then the sound is gone at some other thickness like maybe 5

This is just basic sound physics...
