So, I noticed that slimes are hard to get. You have to put in your .dat file into that website that will tell you which chunks spawn slimes, then go to the coordinates, and dig it all out, then light it up, then you only get like one slime to spawn per day.(I speak from experience!)
Then, you only have a chance of getting a slime ball from it.
So, I propose a new way to get slime. This may seem a little unexpected and random but here it is: Hagfish! That's right. Hagfish are eel-like animals that live at the bottom of the ocean. When agitated, the glands on their sides will excrete slime, and I'm guessing that in-game, they would look something like the Pokemon Barboach. :dry.gif: So, to get them, you would have to make a lead sinker and attach it to your fishing rod. The lead sinker could be made like this:
Then, you could attach it to your fishing rod like this: (stick equals fishing rod!, and coal equals lead sinker!)
Then, you would go out into the ocean on a boat, and start fishing, and since the sinker would sink to the bottom ( :mellow.gif: ), you would have a chance of getting a hagfish. You would have to fish in the part where the ocean is deepest. This would be about 1-5 blocks above the bottom of the ocean. Then, when the fishing rod got a tug on it, you would be able to pull up the hagfish. Then, You would have to make a pool with water in it, only one to two blocks deep. You could place the hagfish in the pool with right click. If the pool had currents in it (moving water), or if you went in the pool and splashed around, they would make slime balls at around one slime ball per every 5-6 minutes (debatable). If you had ten or so hagfish in the pool, then you could create a pretty efficient slime farm.
Please comment and tell me what you think of this idea! By the way, I did check on the search engine on the forums for a similar idea, but it seems pretty screwed up. If there is a thread about this already (which I highly doubt!), I would like the link. Thanks!
Slimes aren't that hard to get in all honesty. Sure they should occur in more chunks (25% seems better), but if you find a chunk with them in it you can be racking up slimeballs very fast. Like 100+ a minute from 1 slime chunk.

I have a slime chunk that spawns VERY rarely, and I have no clue how to make it any faster.

If it isn't lighted properly, do so. Other than that you can add more floors (slimes only need transparent block to spawn so you can get like 3-4 levels per chunk. Also make sure you are the correct distance from the chunk for optimal spawning.
Plus, it's not like we need too many slimeballs right now. They only have one use.
