Okay, the Beds take away almost half of the game, right?
Well, with the beds, so you don't just skip the night, you have a dream that you control, which lasts however long it would take the night to go on.
So, you go to sleep, the sleep animation plays.
There should be like 20 random dreams that you get, randomly selected.
There would be a 3/10 chance you wouldn't dream.
Some dreams could be like, being a creeper or flying, faster and faster, until hitting a mountain, etc.
And if you don't like, a simple "This isn't a good idea" works, not "EW HORRIBLE I HATE THIS IDEA GTFO"
That might be interesting, but it would get repetitive. Also, most people use beds solely as a fast-forward to daytime, and this would make beds nearly useless.

Creeper creeper blew me up,
blew me up with all my stuff
I lost my clock
I lost my gold
I lost my very special bow
Creeper Creeper blew me up,
blew me up with all my stuff
oh creeper how I hate you so,
to heck with you away you go!
I would definitely support this! Of course, it's true that some people definitely wouldn't want this, so it might be good to have an option to turn it off!
Also, making dreams a Skyrealm type thing would be really cool! Also, RyanML said it would be too linear for a sandbox game to have linear, quest-like dreams, and I agree. It would be much better if the dream had a purpose, but you could make it last as long as you wanted, ending it when you finished doing stuff. And having somewhere to explore or something hidden in your dream would give an incentive for not skipping it!
This would be cool if it was put into the game. But, it could take away from the real identity of Minecraft. Minecraft is a sandbox game. You are supposed to build whatever, wherever. This could take away from that. If someone can code it and send it to Notch and squeeze it in to 1.8, then I will be impressed. But, I doubt that will happen. /no

But instead of jumping over the fence, they just wander like idiots, the way minecraft sheep do.

Maybe make sleeping times a bit longer and have like a little video playing, but that would be as far as I would go.
How did I escape? With difficulty....How did I plan this moment? With pleasure
