I thought it would be cool if you could see your reflection in minecraft! This is how I think you could make a mirror...
First put redstone in the furnace so it turns(melts) into mercury. Then it could look like this in the crafting bench!
(lava is mercury)
This is like you are crafting it in a birds eye view!
It would be placed like a painting but it would be 1 block wide, and 2 blocks tall every time you place it. You would be able to see your reflection so like if you threw a block, you could see yourself throw it in the mirror. And then to break it you either break it with your hand,it would break after 5 seconds then it would damage you 2 heart for the glass breaking but you can't pick the mirror up.
If you break it with any type of tool it wont hurt you. But with a golden pickaxe (fastest pick) it would take 0.5 seconds to break!
I hope mojang reads this because mirrors would be awesome!
If you like this idea or have something to improve in it...reply and tell me!

The thing is that with mirrors, they need to completely render the world from a different angle, and the view has to change depending on the angle of visibility.
This is extremely difficult to do in games, which is why there are few games that do have mirrors.
Not only that, but mirrors are resource heavy. Minecraft is already pretty resource heavy, so this is just going to make things worse.
It's not worth the effort.

Ohhh no,
This hasn't been suggested 1000 times. T_T
I think it would be better to have iron in the middle, so it doesn't add another one-use material.
