So, basically the title explains it. Freezing. I bet you you're still confused. Well...
If there was ever a harsh snowstorm (or something like that) update, stuff could start to freeze.
Yes, freeze. You could have a freezing meter, and Leather Armour can slow it down. Basically, you have a certain time period to go through the storm. Leather Armour triples the meter, cause you are wearing an insulator. When your meter runs out, your screen starts turning blue. You are now frozen, and cannot move. You lose a heart every 10 seconds, do from freezing. You cannot switch around items when you are frozen. To get out, you need something (or someone) to break the ice.
When a spider tries to jump you, the ice breaks and the spider takes some damage from the headbutt. Skeletons shoot the ice and break it. Zombies can't break the ice. Creepers can explode the ice (Along with you). Endermen cannot do anything. If somehow monsters escape the nether, ghasts can obviously melt the ice with a blast of fire. Pigmen cannot do anything. A friend can simply break the ice by punching it.
When you escape, your frost meter is at halfway. Mobs can also freeze too (ghasts cannot freeze). The mobs have the same affect as you when they are frozen. HOWEVER, creepers can still explode in the ice.
When you escape the harsh weather, your meter refills and disappears when it's full.
Eh? Eh? Good idea? Give me a diamond if you think so.
I need you to describe the conditions that result in freezing. Do you need to be exposed to the surface (Like sunlight)?
Can fire prevent or reverse freezing, and how would it?
I think that freezing is essentially a death sentence, since the only way to break out alone is to be surrounded by enemies. And if you're with another player, it's a non-issue, since you can just break each other out indefinitely.
