As most people know, bows in 1.8 will have to be drawn and charged. A higher charge means more damage, and possibly a faster arrow.
My suggestion sticks to this method, but also asks for a slight change; Causing arrows to do more damage if they are moving faster.
I am suggesting this for 2 reasons.
1.) It would allow for arrow cannons (Arrows launched by TNT) to be a more practical weapon.
2.) Someone firing a bow at somebody on the high ground could end up doing very little damage, because gravity would slow the arrow down a lot before getting to the target. Adversely, people on the high ground would get a damage advantage.

i think that the bows are supposed to get stronger the longer u hold them so i dont think going faster would really matter

I don't think you understand the suggestion.
I am not asking to increase damage when your CHARACTER goes faster, I am suggesting that arrows should do more damage if THEY are moving faster.
I like this idea, as it would make high ground a tactical advantage and TNT cannons practical. I would have them if arrows they shot did 3+ damage!
Well, considering that arrows shot from an arrow cannon (At least, from my design), shoot at several times the speed of a fully-charged arrow, as seen in Notch's video.
So, this means that an arrow shot from an arrow cannon would do incredibly large amounts of damage, at the cost of being stationary and expensive.

Bows are no longer Fully-automatic torsion-based projectile weapons.
Bows require charging
Higher charge = more damage/ POSSIBLY higher speed
Max charge = arrow leaves smoke trail behind it.
I am simply asking that a higher charge causes a faster projectile, and that damage be based on the arrows speed.
