Meteorites can be found randomly around the world, usually with a 1/200 chance of spawning in a chunk. Meteorite is made of Cometstone, Gold Ore, and Alkaline Soil.
Cometstone:
Cometstone is a light stone, softened by the meteorite's landing. It provides slight light, twice that of a redstone torch. It has a low explosion resistance, that of stone. Good for flooring. Heavily resembles smooth stone. On a side note, it has a very high concentration of salt.
Gold Ore:
Did you know Gold isn't natural to Earth? In fact, it's a foreign mineral, formed when the Earth was just beginning, or Jesus put it there. Depends on your personal beliefs. Anyhow, theories state that Gold came from outer space. So, logically, it'd be on meteorites.
Alkaline Soil:
Alkaline soil is saturated soil with a blue tone. Due to the properties of Alkaline soil, trees grow in two Minecraft days. However, using bone meal on a sapling will affect the salt levels in the soil, resetting the Alkaline soil to standard dirt. Alkaline soil can only be found in the absolute center of a meteorite.
To keep Alkaline soil concentrated in Alkaline, it has to have Cometstone next to it. To create new Alkaline soil, it must have Cometstone next to it, but takes a long amount of time.
Alkaline soil also requires water near it.

First of all, meteorites have been suggested many, many times. Please use search.

That's actually a decent idea. It will make the light dim, but just light enough for no mobs to spawn. It could create a cool lighting effect for buildings built with it.

Actually, it isn't really foreign at all, since there are and were many natural deposits on Earth. Gold wouldn't actually be found on a meteorite, either. Also, many people believe neither science nor Jesus. In fact many Christian denominations do not believe Jesus was there at the creation of the Earth.

I think, while decent, this is completely useless. Just make a mob farm and use bonemeal. It is much, much easier and simpler.

But good job for not suggesting another material to make tools with!
