I'm gonna go ahead and say good luck hiding the redstone, you can't put it below if its a trapdoor. You can't have it connected at the sides, and the top would be a dumb idea. So yes, lets see that 1 connecting redstone in place of using pistons to make doors of this nature.

If hatches were to connect to the top portion of the blocks and swing down, rather the bottom and swing up i would say YES..
