Okay so currently as it is we have to go through dozens of seeds just to try and find a good world well what if we could do things like tell a generator how high the average mountain height would be or how likely each biome is to be made. or how big the average biome is. Wouldn't it be cool if you could turn up how much flora there is or how many dungeons per chunk there are?
In my opinion that would be cool and seeing as there is an whole forum for finding seeds would this be much more effective than randomly picking seeds? Don't you think that maybe this should be added? well lets try and get it :laugh.gif:
No I don't like this idea sorry. I mean I'm sure the majority of players on Minecraft would agree with you, but personally I don't.
I like sticking by a world, and been surprised by what's hidden underground. I prefer to travel a bit to find a nice looking location, I prefer everything to be mysterious and unknown. Sticking by a world that looks slightly ugly isn't a bad idea you know.
Increasing dungeons slightly is a good idea though, I mean my current SSP has like 14 mines in it, all branching off in different directions. I have like 12,000 cobblestone and I've found 2 dungeons.
You could always just make a random world.
The whole point of minecraft is that you can do whatever. Map generation is usually a hindrance to this, and a custom one would make things a whole lot easier.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works

no i see it as and advantage you could do things like have a very flat land with no flora when your building a large project or if you want a challenge you could put yourself in a desert with very small and few sections of trees or lets say you want to make a underwater base that's huge you can't do that on most worlds cause the lakes aren't deep enough. Truthfully i see it as an advantage but i respect your opinion.
