There are some things that I think Notch should definitely add. These ideas are mostly from existing mods. I apologise for any grammar faults, because I'm dutch.
It would be nice if all of these suggestions would be optional in-game.
Sound Improvements:
- Atmosphere sounds
There is a mod called Matmos. It adds atmosphere sounds to the game. These sounds are chosen after checking some conditions. Like: How much air/water/leaf blocks are around the player?, What's the player current altitude? If there are a lot of water blocks in a certain area around the player, it will play a water sound. However this also depends on if the player is in a cave or not. If this is true the water sound would be different then when the player is on an ocean, which makes sence. This is done with most areas which will trigger different sounds. You could even check for certain entities to trigger 'danger' sounds.
Check it out, it should really be added to the full game: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/379925-173-matmos-r4-if-texture-packs-are-for-your-eyes-matmos-is-for-your-ears/
- Sound Dampening and Echoes
When you are in a cave you would expect the sound vibrations to be deflected by the stone walls like irl. However it doesn't do this in Minecraft. There is a mod that does add this! There are still some minor issues with it but it works great. It checks if the player is in an enclosed area and which materials are used for it to create echoes inside the area. Sounds from outside the enclosed area (or water) are dampened, like Minecraft is doing with rain sounds in the current version. If it's possible with rain, why not with different sounds?
Echoes also create a greater scare feeling, like Notch was talking about. In the Nether all sounds have echoes which makes it even creepier.
Great addition to the game check out the mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/355416-173sspsmp-sound-dampening-mod-sdm-beta-v0121/
- Character Sounds
When playing I always thought that my character was a little quiet for all the siuations he has been in. I have about 1 heart and my character is still in the same condition as always. I don't want this to turn out as something as Penumbra, but breathing sounds would make my character more...alive I suppose... Under 3 hearts the character should have breathing problemms and you should that. If sprinting is implemented , the breath sounds would play when your out of energy. When jumping, there could be a sound of him saying like: 'hup' very quickly (no not like freaking Link). I just want my character to be more 'alive'.
Animation Improvements
- Character Animations
There is a mod called Smart Moving that adds the ability to make your character climb, sprint and swim faster. This mod has excellent new animations for the character. When swimming on the surface the character does a front crawl animation and when underwater he does a breast stroke animation. I enjoyed seeing this. Jumping could have a better animation too. The character would first show the crouch animation for a sec and then jump. You can't jump high witout using your whole body. When falling from a great hight the character would start waving with his arms and spinning his body. It's always been a mystery for me, how most game characters seem to be able to control their movements in mid air.... There are many other possibilities of animations that don't require any knees or elbows without making it look weird. We need this!

Visual Improvements
- Shaders
We've all seen the shaders from the GLSL shaders mod. Some are crazy, but most are really amazing. There is a shader that adds rays of light (or godrays) when looking at the sun. This is realistic and looks quite amazing. There also is a shader that allows the water to look as if it's waving. This is also done with leaves and flowers, to make it appear as if there is wind. It just looks amazing!

- Shadows
All shadows of blocks seem to be done pretty nicely after the BetterLight was implemented into the game. What about the mobs though? Their shadow is still a circle on the ground. Although a small detail, it still would be nice to see actual shadows. Maybe it will cause lag? That's why I said that all these suggestions sould be optional.
- Even Better Lighting
So... Notch is working on a new lighting system! Great! He will bring us different colors of light. Which is great! Will it however only color glowstone and torch light? I would be stunned if he made all light coming from underwater blue. And all lava lightning red. What I would also like to see in game is a reflection coming from the water. He should really consider adding that.
We have maps, but it would be great to be able to lay it down or hang it on the wall, so you and your friends can look at it at the same time. There is a mod that adds wallmaps to SSP. It would be great in the real game. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/520617-173-tobbas-mods/
I wouldn't call this a wishlist. It basically all falls under aesthetic tweaks. Except for the inventory sorter.
I like most of these.

A large collection of unrelated suggestions in a topic is known as a wishlist; these are against the rules.
In the future, please DO use search for individual topics and if none exist, create a thread for each individual concept.
This allows full creative energy on each suggestion, allows critics to better improve the suggestion, and allows the original poster to easier update and edit each individual suggestion. Thanks.

- Dynamic Lightning
The title says it all. Holding a torch would result in it emitting light. Same goes for glowstone, a bucket of lava and redstone. It's so realistic and awesome! Guess what? It's a mod. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/184426-v173-dynamic-lights-in-aether-too/
- Biome Water
Two modders made this! That's how hard it's needed! Grass has biome colors, trees have biome colors, but water doesn't? Doesn't make any sence!

Tweaks
- Inventory Tweaks
Most of you are probably using this mod. It adds the ability to sort your inventory and chest with one click! It's very convenient.

- Adjustable 3d person view
Making videos of your character was easier when you could see it from the front.... why was this removed from the game? We need it back! Till then... Use this mod for it:

Thanks for reading this :smile.gif: Discuss these below.
DL;DR, please?
DL;DR? That stands for Don't Like, Don't Read. Doesn't it? Or am I wrong there? :tongue.gif:
Herpy derpy, typo; I meant "TL;DR".
Well, ok but it really isnt as long as some of the suggestions out there and short ones lack information.
Indeed, however, I am busy and short on time. Bookmarked for further reading.
