Gold is useless and abundant. I have an idea that would make collecting tons of gold very useful.
ROBOTS-
Crafting-
These robots are hard to make, and require alot of gold.
You must craft alot of different parts in order to make one.
= Gold Block = Redstone Dust
Robot Head-
Robot Limb-
Robot Body-
Crafting 4 limbs, a head and a body together would make a gold robot.
It can be placed down, and commanded to do different things, using an interface you bring up by right-clicking the robot.
Interface-
Stance-
Aggressive- The robot attacks all mobs that come near it, including friendly ones. (Not tamed wolves.)
Defensive- The robot attacks hostile mobs that come near it.
Passive- The robot only attacks mobs that attack it first.
Follow-
If this box is checked, the robot follows the player like a wolf.
There is another box to control if it can move for picking up items.
Route-
If this button is clicked, the player screen will be tinted gold. The player and walk around for up to 5 minutes, and right click the robot when done. The robot will follow the same route until told to stop (Right-clicked), and only leave the path to fight mobs or pick up items (explained later), but always come back to the path.
Inventory-
The robot has 10 inventory slots, and under the slots is picture of mob drops (pork, feathers, gunpowder, etc). These can be toggled, clicking makes it red, and the robot will not pick up that item. If the robot comes within 10 blocks of an item it is supposed to pick up, it will walk to it and take it.
Features-
Death-
The robot "dies" if the player breaks it, and will just drop another robot. If it loses all it's health, it will drop either 1 robot head, 1 robot body, or 1-3 robot limbs, as well as several gold ingots.
Health-
Robots have 15 hearts. They take no fall damage. The robot avoids water no matter what, and will try to escape if it does touch water. For every second it touches water, it take 1.5 hearts of damage. Robots can also withstand fire and takes only 1 heart of damage per second it is in lava (avoids lava like water).
Damage-
Robots punch targets for 3 damage per hit, and can hit once per second. They can shoot a laser once per minute, that does 5 hearts of damage from up to 20 blocks away. Having the robot shoot automatically can be toggled on and off.
Armor Slots-
Robots have 2 armor slots that items can be placed in to tweak the robot.
Here are some possible choices-
Torches- Any amount up to 64 (or 128 with both slots) of torches can be placed in the slot. If there are torches in a slot, the block 2 above the one the robot is standing on will emit 14 light (like a torch). This is useful when exploring dark areas with the robot. 1 torch will be consumed per 30 seconds. Allowing 32 minutes of light per stack of torches.
Iron Helmet- This makes the robot immune to lava.
Iron Chestplate- This doubles the robot's health.
Leather Bag- This doubles the robot's inventory spaces. Crafted like a chest but with leather.
Scope- The robot can see mobs and items from twice as far away. Crafted with iron ingots in the top and bottom rows, and glass in the middle.
Redstone Dust- Allows the player to right click with a gold bar, and make the robot shoot it's laser at the closest mob to where the player clicked if the robot is in range. Holding the gold bar will also show the robot's health and cooldown on laser.
Second Laser Cannon- Crafted like this-
Allows the robot to shoot a laser every 15 seconds.

n ot very minecrafty, i think it should have gone in the mods reques, not suggestions, but it would still be nice to have a robot slave, perhaps you could make an army of them and loot and pillage a village on your behaf? that would be good.

Wait wait, you actually like the idea? He's suggesting Robots for crying out loud! Minecraft is a sandbox fantasy game, not robot paradise! Why would we have robots in a game where the best things we can craft, are basic tools, minecarts, armor, and golbidy goop.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
I highly doubt Steve has the engineering capabilities to create a robot out of nothing more than solid gold and some dust that resembles electrical wiring.

There used to be a picture of my main characters here. It's out of date and I can't be bothered to update it. Truly a shame.
Lance, Chris, Tallix, Zelek, Regon, Andire. Information about them can be found on my profile (WIP)

I say to myself : why?
Notch doesnt read this , 80% are all dumb , 15% are even worst , and there is a 5% that are good.
AND BELIEVE!!!! , and i mean , BELIEVE ME! , that you are not on that 5%.
not even in that 80%...
I mean , ARE YOU REALLY SUGGESTING A ROBOT?
I mean yeah , one time i was in a trip by the ocean but the cruiser crashed and i ended as a cast away , i walked some time and i found a golden robot
I mean , it makes so much sense , everyoe knows that we can find golden robots in unhabited islands.
IT TOTALLY MAKES SENSE!!
You are in that 15% sir.
It's craftable... not naturally spawning.
EVEN WORSE
