So I've been playing Minecraft on and off for a few months now, and I've noticed a few things that are missing. (Oh the horror, something missing in a beta game!) I'll try to make this quick since I know my suggestion will probably be something for added realism and not something that’s groundbreaking.
Ok, so I've noticed that there is no permafrost. For those of you who live in Florida, permafrost is a layer of dirt that is permanently iced over because the summer weather is not hot enough to melt the ground that fair. Since Notch has added biomes, i would like to make the winter wonderland and colder climates to add a layer of dirt just above the rock that takes longer to break. I know this is a minor change, but don’t worry, that’s not the only thing I’ve noticed.
Another thing is that snow will not form in a non snow biome. That’s all fine and dandy, but anyone who has climbed a tall mountain knows that there is snow at a certain elevation. This snow does not melt and stays there. This would make snow more available in hotter climates that don’t allow snow. I would think maybe 20-15 blocks before the limit, instead of rain, it would snow.
Last but not least, I can’t help but point out that there is not explained story. What happened? Why are there undead? Just what is a creeper?(some kind of green back filled with gun powder?) I can assume that this is a post apocalyptic setting. But what really happened? And there can’t just be you can there? Are there other nomads that will rob you and attack? Putting AI and other nomads that can mine and build just like you would make for an interesting single player.
That’s all I got for now, I'm sure I'll find something else to ***** about. :biggrin.gif:
