For this idea to work, it would require 2 new "accessory" slots to the armor area. In addition to the jewelry i'm suggesting, you would also be able to put compasses and watches in these slots. The way these would would be a toggle key that for compasses will dis play a large red arrow on the ground pointing to your spawn. For watches, the toggle key will display an overlay of where the sun(or moon) is in the sky.
Jewelry
This is where most of the new suggestions I have come in. Remember, for balance there would be a few minutes of cooldown when switching between rings, brooches and pendants. There is no cool down when equipping or equipping compasses or watches. I'm not sure about durability, it seems OK to calculate for the rings but might get complicated for the higher tiers. Jewelry will be crafted at jeweler's table, crafted like
(iron is the tools and stuff) Rings
This would be the most basic form of jewelry, crafted from fairly common material compared to the special jewelry types described later.
Iron ring: this ring will provide some kind of buff to defense, i'm not really sure how much in the interest of balance , be sure to suggest one in the comments.
Crafting
(how else would you craft an iron ring?)
Gold ring: Probably some kind of buff to collection, such as a chance to drop 2 ores when mining or something.
Crafting
(same as iron ring but with gold)
Diamond ring: durability buff to all tools, when wearing, tools take half durability damage.
(yes, I know you can't actually put a ring crafted like this on but does anyone have any better ideas?)
Broaches
Broaches are Dark, Corrupt, or Fiery shards crafted with a diamond ring.
= any shard =diamond ring
Shards
Shards are rare drops from all hostile mobs.
Dark Shards are dropped by zombies and skeletons.(these are night mobs, hence the name)
Zombies drop strength shards and skeletons drop Accuracy shards. These only drop when these are killed by the player and not sunshine.
Corrupt Shards are dropped by Spiders and creepers.(note. Spiders must be killed at night)
Creepers drop demolition shards and spiders drop Agility Shards.
Fiery Shards are dropped by nether mobs. Since ghasts are so hard to kill, this will probably be the best tier. Revenge Shards are pigmen drops and Flaming Shards are Ghast drops.
The broaches crafted from these shards are generally related to the names of those shards. Strength Broaches are self explanatory. Accuracy Broaches negates arrow dropoff. Demo Broaches decreases the time it takes to break blocks and increase placed TNT explosion radius.
Agility Broaches Increases movement and attack speed. Revenge broaches increase damage dealt by half a heart for every heart of health you are missing. Flaming broaches grant immunity to fire damage.
Pendants
Pendants are the highest tier of accessories. They grant the buffs of their component parts with some extra buffs. They have slight disadvantages.(not sure about crafting for any of these)
Symbol of the Ever Moving Moon
+Combined buffs of strength and accuracy amulets plus increased night vision.
- Sunlight is blinding, reducing vision in daylight.
Amulet of the Night Wanderer
+Increased Speed, Increased Damage, Emits light
-Takes fire damage from sunlight
Sigil of the Shining Sun
+Health, Damage and block breaking speed
-Reduced air underwater.
Enchanted Signet of Brimstone
+ Immunity to Fire and lava, and extra damage based on health
-Instantly begins drowning in water.
UI Changes
Just a small thing, have the tool-tips apply to the game world too. If it gets annoying, have it be toggle-able option. Also, show the health of monsters on the top of the screen(think diablo 2)
Well that's it for my suggestion. If you have any thoughts or opinions, be sure to post them.

Nowadays it's just too easy to fake impressive things in an attempt to enlarge one's e-penis.

It's been about 50 minutes and I'm already deterred from relying on humans for help with anything ever..
I haven't really seen any of the rings in the aether mod because all the lp'ers I like aren't that good:). Do you think it would be less op if, when removing an accessory, there is a cool down period of a few minutes where you would only have the bad effects and not the good effects of the new accessory you put on?
