So anyway, Notch is adding a blue bar to 1.8 and I'm pretty sure it's about EXP. I think this may convolute the gameplay a little bit. But as I walked through the snow a little while ago I thought it may be a bit cold for the character. So then I thought this: "What if Notch added a temperature bar?"
Perhaps, wool clothing?
I imagined a cool feature of this.
I can totally see Notch implementing a feature that makes the temperature bar go ff0000 red every time you get super hot. That would make dying in lava a bit more... Well less lame cause there's actually something to look at.
In the Nether it would obviously be pretty hot constantly, the Sky Dimension cold... and near Lava it just needs to cool off?
If the temperature effects your character such as loss of health overtime I think it would make the game a little...annoying. Nobody want's to worry about there character's clothing when there going to the nether or going to a cold and snowy place.
Out of the option's I would much rather it be EXP. Temperature would make the game annoying and too difficult, And tiredness would make it so you have to not travel to far from your bed.
However if you think about it tiredness makes sense since there is a bed but that would suck, at-least I think it would.

Oh COME ON! It's not going to happen that fast, that's not the Notch way! Remember when you first made a stone pick? Remember how long it took to degrade that mothe****ing pick?
According to the interview with Jeb (on the first page a few days ago) it is an EXP bar.

Ask a glass of water.
Uh huh... Tell that to the dungeon spawners. In fact, make 100 legit spawners around you, all of which are spider spawners. Now, tell me, which is more repetitive, more mobs, or this idea?
