Basically, the scorpion is a neutral sand mob, that when attacked, will counter with a sting that will paralyze you.
When killed, it sometimes drops 1 scorpion egg, that must be placed on sand. Once the egg hatches, you can use it as an attack dog. It does the same that enemy scorpions do. After a while, they become adults, which means, you may ride them.
You have to craft the Raparee Helmet like so:
IFI
LEL
EEE
E: Empty
L: Leather
I: Iron
F: Flint
When you wear the helmet, you will be able to ride your scorpion. The helmet does NOT break, so you may not worry. Scorpions will be able to be controlled, only not controllable as young or when you are attacked. Once the enemy is dead, you may control the scorpion again.
It will atleast be as rare as Clay blocks would appear. But they don't spawn near water. Also, the young should be atleast the size of a spider, and the adults would be 3-4x the size of a cow.
Scorpions itself is a good idea. I think notch needs to add a desert mob. But tame scorpions that you can ride? I think thats a bit much. It would be a lot better if they dropped something like poison so you could make poison arrows or things of the sort.

A bit true, but then again, Scorpions would be useful for traveling far distances. Also, they would be a better way of killing creepers.
