I have a palm tree in my Multi world.
All you do is stack fences until you get the length yu want, add some wood blocks nd use the leaves you can get with shears to make the shape you want.
done.
Do u think Notch should implement Palm Trees into Minecraft?
If yes, What conditions should have to be met for them to grow?
My ideas are:
they grow on sand with close proximity to water
they should drop coconuts
Post your own ideas!
Palm trees probably will be added, especially if Notch adds a beach biome. Palm trees and coral should both be added in my opinion, although coconuts seem a bit useless.

Also , it would only grow as a palm tree if the sapling is placed on sand , no need of water near it.
But after it grows you can destroy the sand and place the dirt if you dont like the sand being in the middle of your man-made forest.
That is all , i dont want new food or anything , just an update to the tree generation code , that could include this , it is not bad at all.
But I think Notch AND Jeb_ should think about it, not just Notch.
