There's a lot notch could add, but I was wondering what the community wanted him to focus on developing before the Nov. release. Note that I'm only asking which general areas of the game should be developed, I'm not trying to suggest or debate about specific ideas! Hopefully this will help give the devs an idea of what the community wants as well as satisfying my own curiosity. I've thought of several distinct areas that could be worked on. Please select a maximum of 3 choices!
more "building blocks" and ores: this would cover things such as paint, half blocks, slopes, new ores, pretty much any new type of simple block used in basic construction or ore
gameplay: combat mechanics, hunger, xp, etc...
items/crafting recipes: self explanatory, new items and recipes for more fun stuff!
farming (agro. and livestock): this covers farms, orchards, melons, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and all other related stuff
NPC villages/cities: self explanatory
different game modes: should notch focus on adding creative, adventure, zombie siege, and other modes?
more dimensions: sky world and expanded/better nether?
more biomes/terrain generation: ocean biome? ancient ruins? more distinct biomes? all in this option
redstone mechanisms: improvements to pistons, new wiring rules or redstone based blocks, mechanisms or other moving parts
other: who knows? I may have missed something here!
It's a touch choice (ideally all would be worked on) but personally I would like them to focus the most on on new mobs, new blocks/ores, and terrain generation... thoughts?
Hello,im new to the forum,i joined because i wanted to know whats going on with the game right ok anyway.I was thinking that there should be a redstone mechanism that looks kinda like the redstone repeater but iurns redstone torchhes connected to the redstone that its connected to off and on non stop,and the thing on top of the redstone repeater that u hit it and it changes the delay time, instead of that,(the readstone pulsar im goin g to call it that) the thing changes the speed of the flickering...also i have an idea were you can get empty disks from dungeons and then can record a noteblock song.thanks for listening.

Interesting how the clear winner is more blocks and ores... I started playing Dwarf Fortress recently and one of the things I really like is all the different types of rock. it would be cool to find different types of stone as you go deeper or to different biomes
As for the nether, it is useful as a rapid transit system between far away sites but I agree that it should be expanded. all I mine out of it is glowstone and bloodstone, and both are easy to obtain.
